The Domus TURIN Chain Pendant is a hung exterior lantern — 670 mm overall, 223 mm wide, B22, 240 V, IP43, in five colours.
⭐ The pendant lantern is 223 mm wide against the standard wall bracket's lantern and the Large family's 310 mm. ⭐⭐ THAT IS PROPORTIONATE FOR A HUNG FITTING — a pendant is seen against the sky or a soffit rather than against a wall, and a large lantern overhead reads as heavy. ⭐ But it does mean a chain pendant beside a Large pillar mount is a visible size difference. ⭐ If both are in view, that is a reason to use the standard family throughout rather than mixing.
⭐ The lamp is not included. ⭐⭐ A PENDANT IS THE ONE ARRANGEMENT WHERE PEOPLE LOOK UP INTO THE LANTERN, because it is above them. ⭐ A clear or filament lamp is directly in the eye-line of anyone standing at the door and looking up — which is what people do while waiting for it to open. ⭐ An opal B22 is close to essential here rather than merely preferable. ⭐ Warm rather than cool: at an entrance, cool white reads as institutional and unwelcoming.
⭐ The TURIN head serves as a wall bracket, pillar mount, post top, pendant, and on single, twin or triple-head posts. ⭐⭐ A PORCH PENDANT WITH MATCHING WALL BRACKETS EITHER SIDE OF A DOOR AND POSTS DOWN THE DRIVE READS AS ONE SCHEME because they are literally the same lantern. ⭐ That coherence is the argument for the range, and the pendant is often the piece that completes it.
Allow up to 10 business days for production. ⭐ Published, which is unusual in this catalogue.

Hung exterior lantern on chain. 670 mm overall, 223 mm wide. B22, lamp not included. 220–240 V. IP43. Die-cast aluminium with moulded acrylic lens. Five colours. Made to order, up to 10 business days. 1-year warranty. ⭐ IT IS THE ONE TURIN ARRANGEMENT THAT NEEDS A CEILING — every other attaches to something vertical. That makes it the answer for covered outdoor spaces where a wall bracket has no wall in the right place and a post has no ground, and it puts light directly above a doorway rather than beside it, lighting the threshold and whoever is at the door evenly. ⭐ ITS IP43 WORKS HERE BECAUSE THE ROOF DOES WHAT THE RATING DOES NOT: a hanging lantern has nothing sheltering it from above, so do not hang it in the open on the strength of the family being "exterior". ⚠ MEASURE THE SOFFIT — at 670 mm overall, a 2.4 m ceiling puts the lantern at head height.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Covered outdoor spaces — a porch, a portico, a verandah, a covered entry, a carport. It is the one TURIN arrangement that needs a ceiling rather than a wall or ground, so it suits positions where a wall bracket has no wall in the right place and a post has no ground.
It puts light where people actually stand. A pendant directly above a doorway lights the threshold, the lock and whoever is at the door evenly, where a bracket beside the door lights them from one side.
More than most people check. At 670mm overall, a 2.7m porch ceiling puts the bottom of the lantern at about 2.0m, which is clear. A 2.4m ceiling puts it at 1.73m, which is head height for many people. Measure the soffit before ordering.
Outdoors, yes. A chain swings and a rigid rod does not, and covered does not mean sheltered from wind. On a deep porch or an enclosed portico it is a non-issue; on an open carport or an exposed verandah corner it is worth thinking about, because a swinging lantern is distracting and over years the movement works at the fixing. Chain does adjust though — links can be removed to set the drop exactly, which a fixed rod cannot.
No. IP43 covers spraying water to 60 degrees from vertical, not driving rain — and a hanging lantern has no wall or body sheltering it from above, so rain falls straight into the top of an upward-open fitting. Its rating works under cover precisely because the roof does the work the rating does not. Do not hang it in the open on the strength of the family being "exterior".
An opal B22, and here it is close to essential rather than merely preferable. A pendant is the one arrangement where people look up into the lantern, because it is above them — a clear or filament lamp is directly in the eye-line of anyone standing at the door and looking up, which is what people do while waiting for it to open. Warm rather than cool: at an entrance, cool white reads as institutional.
Smaller. At 223mm wide it is the smallest in the family, which is proportionate for a hung fitting — a pendant is seen against a soffit rather than a wall, and a large lantern overhead reads as heavy. But it does mean a chain pendant beside a Large pillar mount is a visible size difference, which is a reason to use the standard family throughout rather than mixing.
