The Domus SWAP-DEEP in black on black is a retrofit-friendly recessed downlight — 8 W, 800–900 lumens, Ø90–100 mm cutout, 60° beam, IP44, IK05, dimmable, switchable 3000/4000/5700 K.
⭐ This variant is black fascia on a black inner. ⭐⭐ A BLACK INNER IS THE GLARE CHOICE: it absorbs the light that would otherwise bounce around the reflector and out at an angle, so the fitting reads as a dark recess with light coming out of it rather than as a bright ring in the ceiling. ⭐ Combined with the DEEP fascia it is the lowest-glare combination the range offers. ⚠ THE TRADE IS OUTPUT: a black inner absorbs some of what a white one would reflect back out. ⭐ The published 800 lm is the family figure, so treat black as the quieter end of it. ⭐ On a dark or a moody ceiling it disappears; ⚠ on a white ceiling it is a deliberate visible dot, which is either the effect you want or the one you do not.
⭐ The sheet publishes IK05, and only 23 products in this catalogue publish an IK figure at all. ⭐⭐ IK RATES RESISTANCE TO IMPACT: IK05 is about a 0.7-joule blow, which is a knock rather than a strike. ⭐ On a ceiling downlight it mostly matters during construction and when something long is carried through a room — a ladder, a length of timber, a curtain rail. ⭐ It is a mild rating and worth having; ⚠ it is not a vandal-resistance figure, and it is not a substitute for keeping a fitting out of harm's way.

Recessed LED downlight, deep anti-glare fascia. 8 W at 240 V AC. 800/900/850 lm at 3000/4000/5700 K switchable. CRI ≥80, 60° beam. Cutout Ø90–100 mm, fitting depth 56 mm. IP44, IK05. Clear lens, dimmable driver with flex and plug. 35,000 hrs. Black fascia on black inner. Five-year residential warranty per the sheet. ⛔⛔ ITS CUTOUT IS Ø90–100 mm, AND WE MEASURED THAT NO PRODUCT RECORD IN THIS CATALOGUE PUBLISHES A CUTOUT AT ALL — 0 of 843, against 87 datasheets that give one. On a recessed downlight the cutout is the figure that matters most, because it is the only dimension that cannot be corrected once cut. ⭐⭐ AND THE RANGE IS THE POINT OF A "SWAP": it drops into an existing hole anywhere between 90 and 100 mm, which turns replacing a failed downlight from a repair into a swap — no re-cutting, no patching, no repainting. Measure the existing hole before ordering.

Ø90 to 100mm — a range rather than a single figure. That is taken from the datasheet, because no product record in this catalogue publishes a cutout: 0 of 843, against 87 datasheets that give one. On any downlight here, ask for the cutout rather than assuming from a similar product.
Because it is the only one that cannot be corrected once cut. A hole too small can be opened out; a hole too large means patching a ceiling, and the trim covers only a few millimetres.
It is the point of a SWAP fitting. A range means it drops into an existing hole anywhere between 90 and 100mm, which turns replacing a failed downlight from a repair into a swap — no re-cutting, no patching, no repainting a ceiling. That matters most in a house lit ten years ago with halogens on a 90mm hole or a discontinued LED on a 95.
It will not cover. A larger-fascia fitting or a converter plate is the answer — measure the existing hole before ordering and we can advise.
Glare control against plenum depth, and nothing else — all three share the same 8W engine, output and cutout. DEEP is 56mm and recesses the emitter furthest from the ceiling plane, which hides the source until you are almost underneath. STEP is 40mm, SLEEK is 35mm. Check the ceiling void before ordering rather than from the ladder; if it is tight, the SLEEK does the same lighting job with a flatter face.
It is the glare choice. A black inner absorbs the light that would otherwise bounce around the reflector and out at an angle, so the fitting reads as a dark recess with light coming out of it rather than a bright ring in the ceiling. Combined with the DEEP fascia it is the lowest-glare combination the range offers. The trade is output: a black inner absorbs some of what a white one would reflect back, so treat the published 800lm as the quieter end of the family figure.
An impact rating — resistance to about a 0.7-joule blow, which is a knock rather than a strike. Only 23 products in this catalogue publish an IK figure at all. On a ceiling downlight it mostly matters during construction and when something long is carried through a room: a ladder, a length of timber, a curtain rail. It is a mild rating, not a vandal-resistance figure.
