STRIKE 60 INCH DC 3 BLADE CEILING FAN

The Domus STRIKE 60″ DC ceiling fan is a 3-blade DC fan — 1,524 mm sweep, 35 W, 16,302 m³/h airflow, 9 speeds, reversible, in white, black, black/walnut or white/oak.

⛔⛔ "6 years" is two different warranties added together

• ⭐ The record publishes warranty = 6 Years. ⭐ The datasheet says “Fan: 3 Year In-Home + 3 Year Parts Replacement”, and separately “Receiver and remote: 1 Year In-Home + 1 Year Parts”.
• ⭐⭐ THREE YEARS IN-HOME PLUS THREE YEARS PARTS IS NOT SIX YEARS OF COVER. ⭐ For the first three years a fault is attended and fixed. For the next three you get a replacement part — and you pay someone to fit it.
• ⚠ ON A CEILING FAN THAT DISTINCTION IS MOST OF THE COST. ⭐ The fan is at ceiling height, wired in, and often over a stairwell or a bed — the labour to drop it, diagnose it and rehang it is the expensive part, and a part-only claim does not cover it.
• ⭐ WE MEASURED IT: of 9 products whose sheet states a split warranty, 4 publish the sum as a single figure. ⛔ The STRIKE 60, the GLIDE 80, the BLAST 48 and the BLAST 52.

• ⚠ THE LENGTH FIELD IS THE UNRELIABLE ONE. ⭐ This fan records 1,520 mm there, which is close enough; ⛔ but the STRIKE 48″ records 1,520 mm too, which is this fan's figure rather than its own.
• ⭐ SO READ THE SWEEP, NOT THE LENGTH. ⭐ Five fans lack the sweep field entirely and fall back to a length that may or may not be right.
• ⭐ THE RECORD IS UNUSUALLY RICH OTHERWISE — ⭐ blade count, airflow, speeds and reversibility are all published, where most of this catalogue publishes none of them.

⭐ 60 inches — sizing it to the room

• ⭐ A 1,524 mm sweep suits a room of roughly 4.5 × 4.5 m to 6 × 6 m — a large living room, an open-plan area or a big bedroom.
• ⭐⭐ A BIGGER FAN MOVING SLOWLY BEATS A SMALLER ONE WORKING HARD. ⭐ Air moved gently over a wide area is more comfortable and much quieter than the same volume forced through a smaller disc, which is the argument for going up a size where the room allows.
• ⚠ ALLOW AT LEAST 600 mm FROM BLADE TIP TO ANY WALL, ⭐ so a 60-inch fan wants about 2.7 m of clear width minimum. ⚠ Check what opens into the sweep — a wardrobe door, a tall cupboard, a pitched ceiling line.
• ⭐ AIM FOR BLADES AT ABOUT 2.4 m ABOVE THE FLOOR. ⭐ An extension rod is available and sold separately — needed on anything above about 2.7 m and on any raked ceiling. ⚠ Measure before ordering; it is the accessory discovered on installation day.

⭐ 35 W for 16,302 m³/h — what the DC motor buys

⭐ An AC fan of this sweep typically draws 70 to 90 W for comparable airflow. ⭐⭐ SO THIS RUNS AT ROUGHLY HALF THE POWER, AND MORE IMPORTANTLY IT RUNS QUIETER AND SLOWER. ⭐ Nine speeds against an AC fan's three, and the useful ones are the bottom two — an AC fan cannot run that slowly because its lowest speed is still substantial. ⭐ A fan you can leave on all night without hearing it is the case for DC. ⚠ The trade is dependence on the receiver and remote, which carry the shorter warranty and have no wall-switch fallback. ⭐ The 13° blade pitch is what lets it move that air at low speed; a steeper pitch moves more air per revolution but needs more torque and makes more noise.

⭐ The light kit is a separate purchase

⭐ This fan ships without a light. The STRIKE-LIGHT-KIT is an 18 W switchable LED sold separately, listed on the record as a grouped sub-product. ⭐⭐ DECIDE AT ORDER, NOT LATER: retrofitting a light kit means dropping the fan again, which is the same labour as installing it. ⭐ The kit dims by remote, not by a wall dimmer — ⛔ do not put the fan on a dimmer circuit. ⭐ 18 W is convenience lighting rather than a room's scheme; ⚠ a 6 × 6 m room will need its own lighting regardless.

⚠ IPX0 and tropical rating — two different things

⭐ The sheet gives IPX0: no water protection at all. ⛔ This is an indoor or fully covered-outdoor fan only — not an open verandah, not a pergola that gets rain. ⭐ It is separately tropically rated, which is a humidity and corrosion specification rather than a water-ingress one. ⚠ THE TWO ARE OFTEN CONFUSED: tropically rated means it will survive humid heat, not that it can get wet. ⭐ On a covered patio in a coastal or tropical climate, that combination is exactly right; ⛔ on an exposed one it is not.
