The Domus PARIS WALL BRACKET DOWN S-ARM is an outdoor wall light — 450 mm high, 275 mm projection, die-cast aluminium and moulded acrylic, IP43, 1 × B22, in five colours.

⭐ Down-arm or up-arm? It is not a styling choice.

⭐ Domus sells the same bracket both ways, at the same 275 × 450 mm. ⚠ Nothing published explains the difference, and it is not cosmetic.

  • ⭐ The debris point is the practical one. ⭐ An upward-facing lantern under a tree collects leaves, and once wet they stay — ⚠ which dims the fitting, holds moisture against the seal, and eventually needs someone with a ladder.
  • ⭐ Under trees, near gutters, or anywhere with leaf fall, take the DOWN arm. ⭐ On a clean rendered wall with nothing above it, either works and the choice is aesthetic.
  • ⭐ The light distribution matters near a boundary. ⭐ A down arm puts light on your path; an up arm spills more of it sideways — ⚠ which in a townhouse or on a narrow block is your neighbour's bedroom window.

⭐ This bracket stands 275 mm out from the wall. ⚠ On a path narrower than about a metre, that is a real intrusion at head height — ⭐ and at 450 mm tall mounted at the usual 2 m, the bottom of the lantern sits around 1.55 m, which is below eye level. ⭐ For a narrow passage, the Paris HALF wall bracket projects 150 mm instead — ⚠ though note that one takes E27, not B22.

What is the difference between the down and up S-arm?

Not styling. Domus sells the same bracket both ways at the same size, and nothing published explains the difference. A down arm hangs the lantern below the arm, so light goes mostly down onto the path. An up arm stands it above, so more light goes upward and sideways.

Which should I choose?

The down arm under trees, near gutters, or anywhere with leaf fall — and near a boundary. On a clean rendered wall with nothing above it, either works and the choice becomes aesthetic: the down arm reads as a traditional coach lamp, the up arm as more formal and upright.

Why does leaf fall matter?

Because an upward-facing lantern collects it. Leaves sit in the top, and once wet they stay — which dims the fitting, holds moisture against the seal, and eventually needs someone with a ladder. A down arm sheds both rain and debris because its open side faces the ground.

Does it matter near a neighbour?

Yes. A down arm puts light on your path; an up arm spills more of it sideways, which in a townhouse or on a narrow block is your neighbour's bedroom window. It is a small choice with a real effect on how well the fitting is received.

How far does it stick out?

275mm from the wall. Does it come with a globe?

No — 1 x B22 globe is required and not included. No maximum wattage is published, which matters inside an enclosed acrylic lantern where heat has nowhere to go, so prefer LED.

How weatherproof is it?

IP43 — spray to 60 degrees from vertical. Rain is fine; sprinkler throw and hosing are not. On a wall at normal mounting height it is rarely in either, which makes IP43 less of a constraint here than on a post at ground level.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
