LUMALINE-2-300 LED WALL LIGHT

The Domus LUMALINE-2-300 is a 300 mm up-and-down LED wall light — 11 W, 396–449 lumens each way, 110° beam, IP20, in aluminium, black or white, with 3000/4000/5000 K as separate variants.

⛔ Its published width is the family's largest length

• ⭐ This is the 300 mm fitting. ⭐ Its record publishes length = 300 mm, which is right, and width = 900 mm, which is not.
• ⭐⭐ WE CHECKED THE FAMILY, AND LENGTH IS RELIABLE ACROSS ALL THREE: ⭐ the LUMALINE-2-300 records 300, the -600 records 600 and the -900 records 900. ⭐ The length field tracks the title exactly.
• ⛔ THE 900 IN THIS PRODUCT'S WIDTH IS THE LARGEST FAMILY MEMBER'S LENGTH. ⚠ And the -900's own height also reads 900 mm, which a 50 mm-deep wall light is not. ⭐ So the figure 900 appears in two fields it does not belong in, on two different products.
• ⭐ THE FITTING'S REAL PROPORTIONS ARE ON THE SHEET AND IN THE FAMILY: 300 mm long, about 50 mm high, and slim in projection. ⭐ Take the length from the model number, which is what it is for.

⭐ Up and down from a concealed strip — the detail that makes it work

• ⭐ An aluminium profile with an opal PMMA diffuser concealing an LED strip, throwing 396 lm each way at 3000 K, 442 at 4000 and 449 at 5000.
• ⭐⭐ THE POINT IS THAT IT IS A STRIP RATHER THAN A LAMP: the light source is a continuous line, so the wash on the wall is even along its whole length instead of being a bright centre fading to dark ends. ⭐ That is the difference between this and a two-lamp up/down wall light of the same size.
• ⭐ THE SHEET NOTES IT IS “DESIGNED TO NOT SEE ANY MOUNTING SCREWS”, ⭐ which on a minimal profile is the whole aesthetic — a visible fixing on a 300 mm aluminium bar is the thing your eye goes to.
• ⚠ THE 110° BEAM AND THE SURFACE BEHIND IT DECIDE THE RESULT. ⭐ On render, brick or stone the grazing light rakes the texture and makes it the feature; ⚠ on flat painted plasterboard it reveals every imperfection in the setting and sanding. ⭐ That is a conversation to have before lining, not after painting.

⚠ Colour temperature is a variant, not a switch

• ⭐ This product has nine variants: three finishes × three colour temperatures. ⭐⭐ THE COLOUR IS FIXED AT PURCHASE, NOT SELECTABLE ON THE FITTING — unlike most of the switchable products in this catalogue.
• ⚠ SO GETTING IT WRONG MEANS A RETURN, NOT A DIP SWITCH. ⭐ Decide before ordering, and order a run together.
• ⚠ AND ORDER A CORRIDOR'S WORTH IN ONE GO. ⭐ Mixed colour temperatures along a wall are very obvious at night, and with a fixed-colour fitting there is no way to correct it afterwards.
• ⭐ 3000 K SUITS WARM SURFACES — timber, terracotta, warm render. ⭐ 4000 K suits cool grey concrete or stone. ⚠ 5000 K reads clinical indoors and is rarely right for an architectural wall light, though it is the brightest at 449 lm.

⭐ Spacing a run

⭐ Each fitting throws about 396 lm up and the same down over 110°. ⭐⭐ THAT IS ARCHITECTURAL RATHER THAN FUNCTIONAL LIGHT — it lights the wall, not the room, and it will not light a corridor to walk by on its own. ⭐ Mount at 1.6–1.8 m to the centre and space them at roughly 2–2.5 m so the washes almost meet without overlapping. ⚠ Overlapping washes turn a rhythm of light into an uneven stripe, which is worse than either. ⭐ Check the fitting clears any skirting or cornice within its throw — a cornice interrupting the upward wash is a very visible cut-off.

⛔ IP20 and not dimmable

⭐ IP20 means indoor only, with no protection against water — ⛔ not for a covered entry, a verandah or a bathroom wet zone. ⭐ The sheet says dimmable = No, so do not put it on a dimmer circuit. ⚠ Combined with a fixed colour temperature, that means the fitting has no adjustment at all after installation — every decision is made at order. ⭐ CRI ≥80 is adequate for architectural washing and below what you would want where colour matters.
