The Domus GT-556 Siena is a 300 mm sphere on a post — 1,570 mm recorded height, 380 mm deep, IP43, taking one E27 lamp, in aluminium. Five powder-coated colours.

⭐ Within a size class, the sphere is the only thing that changes

• ⭐ Same post, bigger sphere. That is genuinely useful and appears on no listing: you can choose the sphere size without changing the mounting height or the footprint.
• ⭐ So the decision is purely visual. A 300 mm sphere at 1,570 mm is a substantial object; 250 mm reads lighter on the same post.
• ⚠ It does not change the light. Both take one E27 lamp — the bigger sphere spreads the same output over a larger surface, so it glows a little less brightly and looks a little softer.
• ⭐ On a wide frontage or a generous entrance the 300 mm holds the scale. On a narrow path it dominates.

⛔ Its "Medium" name and the "Tall" post record the same height

• This Medium Post records 1,570 mm. So does the GT-558 Sphere Tall Post, with the same 300 mm sphere.
• ⛔ Across all 14 Siena posts, eight pairs are named differently and record identically — ⚠ within a single head count, where twin-head posts being taller is expected.
• ⚠ We cannot tell whether the heights or the names are wrong. ⭐ Buy on the recorded height, and ask us to measure one if it matters against a fence, a gate or a sight line — worth doing before a made-to-order lead time starts.

⭐ What a sphere does, and what it does not

• ⭐ It is an omnidirectional diffuser — light goes in every direction rather than down. A presence light, not a task light.
• ⚠ So it will not put a pool on the ground. For a walking surface, a hooded path light does that job.
• ⚠ And the lamp is visible from every angle, so glare is a real consideration. Use a warm 8–10 W E27 LED, not a bright cool one — and on a 300 mm sphere the larger diffusing surface helps, but only so far.

• One E27 lamp, not included, no maximum recorded anywhere in the range. ✅ 8–10 W LED, warm, enclosed and damp rated. ⚠ Ask us above about 15 W.
• ⛔ No footing depth, base plate, fixing pattern or wind rating on any Siena post. ⚠ A 300 mm sphere at 1,570 mm is the largest sail area of the single-head Siena posts. ⭐ Settle the footing with us before the concreter is on site.
