We compared all 14 Siena posts in this catalogue against their names. ⛔ The names and the recorded heights do not agree.

• ⛔ Eight pairs across the range are named differently and record the same height.
• ⚠ Compare like with like: a twin-head post is taller than a single-head one, which is expected. The problem is inside a single head count — where two different names give the same height.
• ⚠ We cannot tell whether the heights are wrong or the naming is, and we are not going to guess.
• ⭐ What to do instead: buy on the recorded height, not the size word — and if the height matters against a fence, a gate or a sight line, ask us and we will measure a physical post. On a made-to-order fitting that is worth doing before the ten days start.

⭐ The sphere is the choice, and it comes in three sizes

• 200 mm · 250 mm · 300 mm across the Siena range. This is the 250 mm.
• ⭐ A sphere is an omnidirectional diffuser — it throws light in every direction rather than down. Which makes it a presence light rather than a task light: it marks a path and lights the space around it softly, and it does not put a bright pool on the ground.
• ⚠ So a sphere is seen as much as it lights. At 250 mm on a 1,570 mm post it sits at about chest-to-shoulder height and reads as a glowing object in the garden.
• ⚠ Which also means glare matters. A bright lamp in a sphere is visible from every angle — use a warm, modest E27 LED, not a bright cool one.
• ⭐ Step up to the 300 mm on a wider frontage and down to the 200 mm where the sphere would dominate.

⛔ An E27 holder with no maximum wattage

• One E27 lamp, not included, and no maximum recorded anywhere — the same gap that runs through the traditional Domus ranges.
• ✅ An E27 LED at 8–10 W, warm at 2700–3000 K, rated for enclosed and damp use, is what we would fit.
• ⚠ Check the lamp fits the sphere's opening. E27 LEDs vary a great deal in length and girth; a compact globe is safer than a long candle.
• ⚠ Ask us before anything above about 15 W.
