The Domus Siena Sphere is an exterior sphere luminaire — Ø170 mm sphere, 430 mm overall, E27, 240 V, IP43, in beige, black, burgundy, green or white.
⭐ The datasheet held against this product could not be confirmed as belonging to it. ⭐ We have used it only where it agrees with the product's own record — the E27 base, the 240 V supply and the IP43 rating all appear in both — ⭐ and we have not taken anything from it that the record does not corroborate. ⭐ WHERE THAT LEAVES A GAP, WE HAVE SAID SO RATHER THAN FILLING IT.
⭐ The lamp is not included, and inside a translucent sphere it is partly visible. ⭐⭐ THE SHAPE OF THE LAMP CHANGES THE SHAPE OF THE GLOW. ⭐ A compact lamp sitting low in the sphere lights the bottom half brightly and leaves the top dimmer; a larger globe-shaped lamp fills the volume and gives an even sphere of light, which is what the fitting is for. ⭐ An opal globe lamp, sized close to the sphere's internal diameter, is almost always the right answer. ⭐ Tell us the sphere size and we will suggest one.
⭐ Beige, black, burgundy, green and white. ⭐ Coloured exterior luminaires are rare, and the reason to want one is that a sphere is a visible object by day as well as a light source by night. ⭐ Green disappears into planting; beige suits render and sandstone; black reads as contemporary against most things; white is the traditional choice and the most visible. ⭐ Burgundy is a period colour that suits heritage brickwork and looks out of place against anything modern. ⭐ Choose for the daytime appearance — at night the sphere glows and the body colour barely registers.
Allow up to 10 business days for production. ⭐ That is published, which is unusual in this catalogue — most made-to-order Domus products publish no lead time at all.

Exterior sphere luminaire, Ø170 mm sphere, 430 mm overall. E27, lamp not included. 220–240 V. IP43. Beige, black, burgundy, green or white. Mount not included — GT-502, GT-544, GT-545 wall brackets or GT-503/GT-504 180 mm pillar mounts. Made to order, up to 10 business days. 1-year warranty. ⚠ THE SPHERE ON ITS OWN IS NOT AN INSTALLABLE PRODUCT — it needs a mount and a lamp, neither of which is included, and the listing does not say so. The mount also determines the finished height and the look, so it is not an accessory decision. ⭐ AND IP43 IS THE NUMBER TO LOOK AT TWICE: it covers spraying water to 60° from vertical, which excludes driving rain, hosing and run-off. Under an eave or on a sheltered pier it is appropriate; on an exposed pier at the front of a windy site it is under-specified.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
No. The datasheet names GT-544 and GT-545 wall brackets, a GT-502 wall bracket, and GT-503/GT-504 180mm pillar mounts — none included. So the sphere on its own is not an installable product: it needs a mount and a lamp, and the listing does not say so.
A great deal. It determines the finished height and the look — a wall bracket puts the sphere against a wall and a pillar mount puts it on top of a pier, which are entirely different results from the same luminaire. Tell us which arrangement you want and we will quote the sphere, the mount and a suitable lamp as one thing.
Protection against solid objects over 1mm and against spraying water up to 60 degrees from vertical. It is the lowest exterior rating in common use. What it does not cover is driving rain — rain arriving at an angle greater than 60 degrees from vertical, which is ordinary Australian weather in a wind — nor hosing, nor run-off from a wall above.
Under an eave, in a covered entry, on a sheltered pier or against a protected wall, where it is entirely appropriate. On an exposed pier at the front of a windy site it is under-specified, and the failure will look like water inside the sphere. If the position is exposed, tell us — there are higher-rated alternatives, and it is a cheaper conversation than a replacement.
An opal globe lamp sized close to the sphere's internal diameter, almost always. Inside a translucent sphere the lamp is partly visible and its shape changes the shape of the glow: a compact lamp sitting low lights the bottom half brightly and leaves the top dimmer, where a larger globe fills the volume and gives an even sphere of light, which is what the fitting is for.
For the daytime appearance. A sphere is a visible object by day as well as a light source by night, and at night it glows and the body colour barely registers. Green disappears into planting; beige suits render and sandstone; black reads as contemporary; white is traditional and the most visible. Burgundy is a period colour that suits heritage brickwork and looks out of place against anything modern.
The ones here are corroborated. The datasheet held against this product is flagged as unverifiable — it could not be confirmed as belonging to it — so we used it only where it agrees with the product's own record. The E27 base, the 240V supply and the IP43 rating all appear in both. Where that left a gap, we said so rather than filling it.
