If the ceiling is a standard 2.4 m, a 1,750 mm drop leaves the fitting at about 650 mm from the floor, so it is almost certainly meant to be shortened.

⭐ "25 W LED Max" — read the wording

• The maximum is stated as 25 W for an LED lamp, not as an incandescent equivalent.
• ⭐ Which is generous. At modern efficacy a 25 W E27 LED is a great deal of light — far more than a pendant over a table usually wants. In practice 8–12 W is the sensible range.
• ⚠ A 25 W incandescent limit would mean something quite different, so the wording is doing real work. If you are fitting a filament-style lamp, ask us before going near 25 W.
• ⭐ Choose the lamp for what is visible. If the holder is exposed below a timber shade, a decorative filament LED is the right choice; if it is enclosed, buy a plain compact globe.

⭐ Timber, and what that means in practice

• Material: timber — recorded.
• ⭐ Timber is a warm, light-absorbing surface, so a timber pendant throws less light sideways than a metal or glass one and directs more of it down. That suits a table or an island and does less for the room as a whole.
• ⚠ Pair it with a warm lamp. 2700–3000 K against timber reads naturally; 4000 K and above makes the grain look grey.
• ⚠ IP20 and indoor only — timber and humidity do not mix, so not a bathroom or a covered outdoor area.

• ⚠ Most Domus fittings carry 3 years, and the EMIT and driver ranges carry 5 on their datasheets.
• ⭐ It matches the pattern of the imported decorative ranges in this catalogue — the raw ceramic wall lights and the traditional lantern families also carry 1 year. It is a range term rather than a comment on this fitting.
• ✅ In practice a timber shade with a replaceable lamp has very little in it to fail. What it will not survive is being knocked.

• Over a dining table or a kitchen island, shortened to suit.
• Stairwells and double-height voids, where the long drop is used rather than shortened.
• Warm interiors — timber against a warm lamp.
• ⛔ Not in a bathroom or outdoors — IP20 and timber.
