The Domus TICK is an 8 W recessed LED downlight with a flat fascia frame — 750–800 lumens, IP44, Class II, 110° beam, Ø90–100 mm cutout, switchable 3000/4000/5700 K.
| Specification | TICK | TACK |
|---|---|---|
| Wattage | 8 W | ⭐ identical |
| Lumens | 750 / 800 / 780 | ⭐ identical |
| CRI | ≥80 | ⭐ identical |
| Beam angle | 110° | ⭐ identical |
| Cutout | Ø90–100 mm | ⭐ identical |
| Lifespan | 35,000 hrs | ⭐ identical |
| IP rating | IP44 | ⭐ identical |
| ⭐ Frame | ⭐ Flat fascia | ⭐ Anti-glare deep-set |
⭐ The sheet reads “IP44 rating is from the underside of the downlight once installed into the ceiling.” ⭐⭐ THAT MEANS THE RATING APPLIES TO THE FACE YOU SEE FROM THE ROOM, NOT THE BODY ABOVE THE CEILING. ⭐ The visible side is splash-protected; the side in the ceiling cavity is not rated. ⭐ So it suits a bathroom ceiling — steam and splashing from below — but it is not protected against water arriving from above, which is what a roof leak or a burst pipe delivers. ⭐ It is a distinction worth reading rather than skipping.
⭐ The fitting ships with a white fascia; black and satin chrome are available separately and simply swap. ⭐ An electrician carries one product, a client who changes their mind at handover changes a fascia rather than a fitting, and a room restyled years later can have its fascias changed without touching the ceiling or the wiring. ⭐ Order them with the fittings if the finish is known — they are a separate line and easy to forget.

Recessed LED downlight with flat fascia frame. 8 W at 240 V AC. 750/800/780 lm at 3000/4000/5700 K switchable. CRI ≥80, 110° beam. Ø90–100 mm cutout. IP44, Class II. Opal diffuser, dimmable driver, flex and plug included. Interchangeable fascia. 35,000 hrs. ⭐⭐ TICK AND TACK ARE IDENTICAL ON EVERY PUBLISHED FIGURE — wattage, lumens, CRI, beam, cutout, lifespan and IP all match. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE FRAME: this is a flat fascia and the TACK is an anti-glare deep-set frame. So the choice is entirely about glare versus profile and nothing else, which makes it simple. ⭐ THE HONEST TEST IS WHETHER ANYONE WILL LOOK UP AT IT — if not, the flat fascia is cleaner and there is nothing to gain from the deep-set version.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
The frame, and nothing else. We compared every published figure: wattage, lumens, CRI, beam angle, cutout, lifespan and IP rating all match exactly. TICK has a flat fascia and TACK has an anti-glare deep-set frame. So the choice is entirely about glare versus profile.
The honest test is whether anyone will look up at it. TICK suits positions where the fitting should disappear into the ceiling and nobody sees it from a low angle — hallways, walk-in robes, laundries, and ceilings where a flush plane is the design intent. TACK suits positions with seating, or where people lie down or recline: living rooms and bedrooms.
Sensibly, yes — TICK in circulation areas and TACK in living and sleeping rooms. What does not work is mixing them in one room, where the different apertures are conspicuous.
The LED sits closer to the opening, so it is more visible from an angle. The deep-set frame recesses the source further back so you see less of it from across a room, at the cost of a visible ring of shadow around the aperture. Neither is better; they suit different positions.
Unusually so. The Ø90–100mm cutout is a range rather than a single figure, so it drops into most existing halogen holes without patching — and it is Class II, so it installs where there is no earth at the point. Older circuits frequently have none, and a Class I fitting cannot legally go there without rewiring. Those two together turn a rewire into an afternoon's work.
Two or three holes, yes. A house is rarely consistent and the largest one governs. It is a five-minute check that avoids discovering the problem with the ceiling open.
That the rating applies to the face you see from the room, not the body above the ceiling. The visible side is splash-protected; the side in the ceiling cavity is not rated. So it suits a bathroom ceiling — steam and splashing from below — but is not protected against water arriving from above, which is what a roof leak or a burst pipe delivers.
