The Domus THOR-PRO-15 surface-mounted downlight is the same 15 W head in a surface body — 240 V AC, CRI ≥90, 36° beam standard, switchable 3000/4000/5000 K, in white or black.
⭐ This listing publishes aluminium construction and three colour temperatures, with no voltage or AC/DC entry, consistent with the rest of the THOR-PRO family. ⭐⭐ THE RECESSED VERSION OF THE SAME 15 W LIGHT PUBLISHES 12 V, DC, STAINLESS STEEL AND RGB. ⭐ Comparing three bodies of one light source is what made that visible — across all 16 THOR-PRO listings, only that one carries any of those values. ⭐ Where a family shares a light engine, the siblings are the check.
⭐⭐ ALIGNMENT SHOWS FAR MORE THAN IT DOES RECESSED. ⭐ A recessed fitting 20 mm out of line is barely noticed; a projecting cylinder out of line is obvious from across the room. ⭐ Set out from a datum line rather than measuring each from the nearest wall, and check the run by eye along the ceiling before fixing. ⭐ On an exposed-services ceiling, align them to the services rather than to the walls — the eye reads the two together and a fitting square to the wall but skewed to the duct above it looks wrong.
⭐ 15°, 24°, 36°, 45° and 60°, with 36° standard — unusual where most downlights offer one. ⭐ From a 3 m ceiling to a 1 m surface, a 36° beam lights about 1.3 m across and a 60° about 2.3 m. ⭐ Choose from the object, not the room. ⭐ The driver is flicker-free, which in retail matters beyond comfort: flicker is what makes phone footage of a shop look poor. ⭐ Confirm the dimmer type with us — a mismatched dimmer is the usual cause of flicker on an otherwise sound fitting.

Surface-mounted adjustable LED downlight. 15 W at 240 V AC. White 1,200/1,300/1,250 lm; black 1,150/1,300/1,250 lm. 3000/4000/5000 K switchable. CRI ≥90. Beam 15°, 24°, 36°, 45° or 60° (36° standard). 62 mm × 170 mm CNC aluminium. Dimmable, flicker-free. IP20. 50,000 hrs. ⭐ ITS RECORD IS CORRECT, AND COMPARING IT WITH ITS SIBLINGS IS HOW WE CAUGHT THE ONE THAT IS NOT — the recessed version of this same 15 W light publishes 12 V, DC, stainless steel and RGB. Where a family shares a light engine, the siblings are the check. ⭐ 15 W IS THE SIZE MOST RETAIL ACTUALLY NEEDS: the common mistake is over-specifying, and a 32 W head from a 2.7 m ceiling onto a counter is uncomfortable to stand under and washes out the contrast that makes a display read.

Yes — it publishes aluminium construction and three colour temperatures with no voltage or AC/DC entry, consistent with the rest of the THOR-PRO family. Comparing it with its siblings is how we caught the one that is not: the recessed version of this same 15W light publishes 12V, DC, stainless steel and RGB. Where a family shares a light engine, the siblings are the check.
Concrete soffits, fire-rated ceilings, ceilings full of services, and shallow voids — the recessed version's housing is 170mm deep and needs somewhere to go, where this needs nothing above the ceiling. On a fire-rated ceiling it is a compliance simplification, because cutting a penetration breaches the rating unless it is made good to the same standard.
Usually, in an occupied space. No hole, no dust, no plaster patching, no access needed above the ceiling — which in a shop that cannot close, or an office being re-lit over a weekend, is often what decides it. The cost is that it is seen: a 62mm cylinder projecting 170mm is an object on the ceiling where a recessed fitting is an aperture.
It is the size most retail actually needs. From a 3m ceiling in a 36 degree beam, 1,200 to 1,300 lumens is a bright, clearly defined pool on a shelf or table. The common mistake is over-specifying — a 32W head from a 2.7m ceiling onto a counter is uncomfortable to stand under and washes out the contrast that makes a display read. Step up for height or area, not for impact.
About 1.4% here, so choose the finish on appearance. That is worth stating because the 23W model in the same housing loses 13.9% — the assumption does not carry between sizes.
From a datum line, not by measuring each from the nearest wall — and check the run by eye along the ceiling before fixing. Alignment shows far more than it does recessed: a recessed fitting 20mm out of line is barely noticed, where a projecting cylinder out of line is obvious from across the room.
Align them to the services rather than to the walls. The eye reads the two together, and a fitting square to the wall but skewed to the duct above it looks wrong even though it is technically straight.
