The Domus STRAP-PDT is a pendant — conical shade held by a leather strap, Ø164 mm, 1 × E27, 240 V, up to 1,500 mm drop, in matt black or matt white.

⭐ This product's datasheet says 25 W LED Max and its record says 25 W. ⭐ So does the table lamp. ⭐⭐ THAT CONSISTENCY IS WHAT MADE THE OTHER TWO STAND OUT: ⭐ the floor lamp holds two sheets that disagree with each other (25 W and 60 W), and the wall bracket's sheet says 60 W against a 25 W record. ⭐ Two of four members agreeing is what turns a single odd figure into a checkable pattern. ⭐ We publish 25 W across the family.

⭐ Ø164 mm — a small pendant, and small pendants work in groups

• ⭐ A 164 mm shade is a modest object. ⭐ Over a dining table or an island, one on its own tends to read as under-scaled.
• ⭐⭐ TWO OR THREE IN A LINE READ AS DELIBERATE. ⭐ For an island, space them evenly across the working length rather than centring one; for a table, match the number to the table's length rather than to the room.
• ⭐ A USEFUL SPACING RULE: for 164 mm shades, around 500 to 600 mm between centres. ⭐ Closer and they read as one cluttered object; further and the connection between them is lost.
• ⭐ THE 1,500 mm DROP is the maximum cable, not the hanging height — ⭐ it is cut or looped to suit. ⭐ Over a bench, hang the bottom of the shade around 700 to 800 mm above the benchtop; over a dining table, 750 to 900 mm above the tabletop.

⭐ The conical shade is open at both ends — which decides the lamp

⭐⭐ YOU WILL SEE THE LAMP FROM A SEATED POSITION. ⭐ A cone open top and bottom throws light down onto the surface and a little up onto the ceiling, and leaves the source visible.

• ⭐ OVER A DINING TABLE THAT MATTERS MOST, ⭐ because people sit for a long time looking across at each other with the pendant in the field of view. ⭐ An opal or frosted E27 is almost always right there.
• ⭐ OVER AN ISLAND IT MATTERS LESS — ⭐ people stand, and the shade is above the eyeline. ⭐ A filament lamp can be a feature there.

⭐ Part of a family of four, and the pendant is the anchor

⭐ Pendant, table lamp, floor lamp and wall bracket share the conical shade and leather strap. ⭐⭐ THE PENDANT IS USUALLY THE PIECE THAT ESTABLISHES THE LOOK — ⭐ it is the most visible and the most fixed — and the others echo it. ⭐ A pendant over the dining table with the floor lamp beside a chair in the same room is the most common and most effective pairing. ⚠ Using all four in one space is usually too much.

⭐ Matt black or matt white

⭐ Both painted, so they hold their appearance. ⭐ Black is the more assertive choice and works where the pendant is meant to be seen as an object; white recedes and suits a room that already has visual weight elsewhere. ⭐ The leather strap is warm against timber and plaster and sits less comfortably against high-gloss or very minimal joinery. ⭐ Over a dining table, a dark shade also stops the interior of the cone glaring at seated eye level, which a white one can do.
