The Domus PLEX-COB-5-IP67 is a 24 V DC COB LED strip — 5 W per metre, 640 LEDs per metre, CRI ≥90, IP67, sold per metre in 3000, 4000 or 5000 K.
⭐ The datasheet states it in capitals — “All LED strip must be installed on an aluminium heat sink, failure to do so WILL VOID WARRANTY” — ⭐ and seventeen strip sheets in the range repeat it. ⛔ No description says it and none of the catalogue's 47 aluminium profiles mentions PLEX-COB. ⭐ Budget a profile with every metre; it is the heat sink the warranty depends on, not a finishing touch.
| At 5 W per metre | IP54 | IP67 | ⭐ Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3000 K | 450 lm | ⭐ 380 lm | ⭐ −15.6% |
| 4000 K | 500 lm | ⭐ 425 lm | ⭐ −15.0% |
| 5000 K | 500 lm | ⭐ 425 lm | ⭐ −15.0% |
⭐ Buying by the metre lets the strip length match the profile length, ⭐ which matters more here than on most products, because the profile is mandatory. ⭐ Order both to the same measured run and the 25 mm cutting increment gives you a tolerance of about an inch. ⚠ Note the increment: you can only cut every 25 mm, so a run must round to that.

COB LED strip, IP67 silicon coated, per metre. 5 W per metre at 24 V DC. 380 lm at 3000 K, 425 lm at 4000 and 5000 K. 640 LEDs per metre, dotless. CRI ≥90. 180° beam. 25 mm cutting increment. Continuous run 5 m one-end, 10 m two-end. Dimmable with a suitable driver. 3-year warranty. ⛔⛔ ITS VOLTAGE FIELD PUBLISHES 240 V ON A 24 V DC PRODUCT — the title, the output_voltage field on the same record and the datasheet all say 24 V. FIVE strips in the catalogue carry this error and every one is a 24 V product. IT MUST NEVER BE CONNECTED TO MAINS. ⛔ AND IT MUST BE MOUNTED ON AN ALUMINIUM HEAT SINK OR THE WARRANTY IS VOID. ⭐ Choosing IP67 also costs 15% of the light, measured across twelve pairs — so do not over-specify it.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
24V DC, without ambiguity. The listing publishes a voltage field of 240V, but the title, the output_voltage field on the same record, the datasheet's "24V DC Per Metre" and the requirement for a "24V DC Constant Voltage LED Driver" all say 24V. It must never be connected to mains.
Five strip products in the catalogue publish 240V, and every one of them is a 24V DC product. So it is a small, specific, fixable set rather than a convention.
Because a mains product mislabelled 24V would simply not work, whereas a 24V product mislabelled 240V invites someone to connect it to mains — which destroys it instantly and is not safe. This is the worst direction for the mistake to run, which is why it is worth stating plainly rather than quietly correcting.
Yes. The datasheet states in capitals that all LED strip must be installed on an aluminium heat sink and that failure to do so will void the warranty, and seventeen strip sheets in the range repeat it. No description says it and none of the catalogue's 47 aluminium profiles mentions PLEX-COB. Budget a profile with every metre — it is the heat sink the warranty depends on, not a finishing touch.
Yes, about 15%. At 5W per metre the IP54 strip gives 450/500/500 lumens and the IP67 gives 380/425/425 — a loss of 15.6% at 3000K and 15.0% at 4000 and 5000K. And it holds at every wattage: across twelve comparable pairs spanning 5, 10, 15 and 20W the figures are the same every time. A range that tight is a real optical loss in the silicon, not measurement noise.
Avoid over-specifying it. It costs 15% of the output, it makes every cut a breach of the seal, and IP54 already covers "indoor including wet areas" — so a bathroom does not need it. Take IP67 for hosing, standing water or genuinely outdoor positions.
The strip length can match the profile length, which matters more here than on most products because the profile is mandatory. Order both to the same measured run. Note the 25mm cutting increment though — you can only cut every 25mm, so the run has to round to that.
