The Domus PLEX-COB-5-50M is a 24 V COB LED strip — 5 W per metre, 640 LEDs per metre, CRI ≥90, IP54, 50 m roll, at 450 / 500 / 500 lm per metre.

⛔⛔⛔ Fifty metres of strip is also fifty metres of aluminium profile

• ⭐ The datasheet requires it in capitals: “All LED strip must be installed on an aluminium heat sink, failure to do so WILL VOID WARRANTY.” ⭐ Seventeen strip sheets in the range repeat it.
• ⛔ ZERO product descriptions say it. ZERO of the catalogue's 47 aluminium profiles mention PLEX-COB. ⭐ The requirement and the solution sit in the same catalogue with no link in either direction.
• ⭐⭐ AT FIFTY METRES THAT IS NOT A DETAIL — IT IS A SECOND LINE ITEM OF COMPARABLE SIZE. ⚠ Fifty metres of aluminium extrusion is a material quantity with its own cost, its own lead time and its own delivery problem, and a buyer who does not know it is required will not have budgeted it.
• ⭐ THE ONE THING TO DO BEFORE ORDERING: quote the strip and the profile together. ⭐ Tell us the runs and we will price both, and check the profile suits the position.

⭐ Ten runs, or five — the feed method halves it

• ⭐ The sheet gives two limits, not one: 5 m from one end, 10 m from two. ⭐ So fifty metres is ten runs on one-end feeds or five on two-end feeds.

• ⭐ Half the drivers and less than half the cuts, for the same total cable — ⭐ because a two-end run needs two feeds where a one-end run needs one.
• ⭐ Across fifty metres that is five drivers instead of ten, and five places to house them instead of ten. ⚠ On a job this size the housing is usually the harder problem, so halving it is worth more than the driver cost.

⭐ 250 W and 25,000 lumens — modest for the length

⭐ Fifty metres at 5 W is 250 W, giving 22,500 to 25,000 lumens. ⭐ Compare the same fifty metres of the 20 W strip: 1000 W for four times the light. ⭐ The 5 W version is the one that fits a normal domestic or retail supply without special provision — ⭐ and 25,000 lumens spread over fifty metres is a great deal of continuous light. ⭐ Start here and step up only where a surface is genuinely worked at.

⭐ One roll is one batch

⭐ Fifty metres is a single production run, so all five or ten lengths come from the same batch. ⭐ White LEDs vary slightly between batches and the eye catches it where two runs meet at a corner or face each other across a room. ⭐ Beyond fifty metres, ask us for consecutive rolls from one batch — free to request, impossible afterwards.

At this length that is a second line item of comparable size, with its own cost and lead time. ⭐ QUOTE BOTH TOGETHER BEFORE ORDERING. ⭐ And feeding from both ends makes fifty metres FIVE drivers rather than ten.
