A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Domus PLEX-COB-5-50M is a 24 V COB LED strip — 5 W per metre, 640 LEDs per metre, CRI ≥90, IP54, 50 m roll, at 450 / 500 / 500 lm per metre.
| 50 m of PLEX-COB-5 | Runs | Cuts | ⭐ Drivers |
|---|---|---|---|
| One-end feed | 10 | 9 | 10 × 30 W |
| ⭐ Two-end feed | ⭐ 5 | ⭐ 4 | ⭐ 5 × 60 W |
⭐ Fifty metres at 5 W is 250 W, giving 22,500 to 25,000 lumens. ⭐ Compare the same fifty metres of the 20 W strip: 1000 W for four times the light. ⭐ The 5 W version is the one that fits a normal domestic or retail supply without special provision — ⭐ and 25,000 lumens spread over fifty metres is a great deal of continuous light. ⭐ Start here and step up only where a surface is genuinely worked at.
⭐ Fifty metres is a single production run, so all five or ten lengths come from the same batch. ⭐ White LEDs vary slightly between batches and the eye catches it where two runs meet at a corner or face each other across a room. ⭐ Beyond fifty metres, ask us for consecutive rolls from one batch — free to request, impossible afterwards.

| ⛔ Aluminium heat sink | ⛔ MANDATORY — ⭐ 50 m of profile too |
| Load | 5 W per metre — ⭐ 250 W total |
| ⭐ Output | ⭐ 450 / 500 / 500 lm per metre — ⭐ 22,500–25,000 lm total |
| ⭐ Continuous run | 5 m one-end · ⭐ 10 m two-end |
| ⭐ So 50 m needs | ⭐ 5 drivers, not 10 |
| ⭐ Cutting increment | ⭐ 25 mm |
| LED density / CRI | 640 per metre, dotless · CRI ≥90 |
| Beam / dimmable | 180° · ⭐ yes |
| ⭐ Batch | ⭐ One roll is one batch |

COB LED strip, 50 m roll. 5 W per metre at 24 V DC, 250 W total. 22,500–25,000 lm. 640 LEDs per metre, dotless. CRI ≥90. IP54. 180° beam. 25 mm cutting increment. Continuous run 5 m one-end, 10 m two-end. Dimmable. 3-year warranty. ⛔⛔⛔ FIFTY METRES OF STRIP IS ALSO FIFTY METRES OF ALUMINIUM PROFILE — the datasheet requires a heat sink in capitals and voids the warranty without one, seventeen strip sheets repeat it, and NOT ONE description or profile page connects them. At this length that is a second line item of comparable size, with its own cost and lead time. ⭐ QUOTE BOTH TOGETHER BEFORE ORDERING. ⭐ And feeding from both ends makes fifty metres FIVE drivers rather than ten.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Fifty metres of aluminium profile. The datasheet requires a heat sink in capitals and voids the warranty without one, and seventeen strip sheets in the range repeat it. At this length that is not a detail — it is a second line item of comparable size, with its own cost, lead time and delivery problem.
Because nothing says it. Zero product descriptions mention the requirement, and zero of the catalogue's 47 aluminium profiles mention PLEX-COB. The requirement and the solution sit in the same catalogue with no link in either direction, and the requirement itself is inside a PDF.
Ask us to quote the strip and the profile together. Tell us the runs and we will price both and check the profile suits the position — surface, recessed, corner, or a deeper channel if the strip needs protecting.
Five, if you feed each run from both ends — or ten on one-end feeds. The sheet gives both limits: 5 metres from one end, 10 metres from two. Five drivers also means five places to house them instead of ten, and on a job this size the housing is usually the harder problem.
No. A two-end run needs two feeds where a one-end run needs one, so the total cable across fifty metres is the same either way. You halve the drivers and more than halve the cuts for no extra wiring.
