A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Domus PLEX-COB-15-20M is a 24 V COB LED strip — 15 W per metre, 640 LEDs per metre, 180° beam, IP54, dimmable, 20 m roll.
| Option | ⭐ Verdict |
|---|---|
| ⭐ One cupboard, four drivers together | ⭐ Best — ⭐ one access point, one place to service |
| Distributed above a ceiling | ⚠ Needs four access panels — ⭐ or they become unreachable |
| Inside the joinery | ⚠ Only if each is behind a removable panel |
| ⛔ Inside the cove detail | ⛔ A 90 W driver will not fit |
⭐ Worth asking, because the answer is often no. ⭐ At 15 W per metre this is task-level light, and twenty metres of task-level light is a lot of building to be working on. ⚠ If most of the run is decorative — a cove, a shadow gap, a shelf line — the 5 W version gives a third of the load, a third of the drivers, and reaches further. ⭐ Mixing wattages across a job is entirely reasonable: task level where you work, low level where you do not. ⭐ Tell us what each run is doing.

COB LED strip, 20 m roll. 15 W per metre at 24 V DC, 300 W total. 640 LEDs per metre, dotless. 3000 / 4000 / 5000 K. 180° beam. IP54. Dimmable. Four drivers at approximately 90 W. 3-year warranty. ⭐ TWENTY METRES AT 15 W IS 300 WATTS, AND THAT IS THE FIGURE PEOPLE MISS — strip is specified per metre so the total stays invisible until someone adds it up. It is comparable to fifteen or twenty downlights and belongs on the circuit schedule as a real number. ⭐ AND IT DOES NOT ARRIVE AS ONE LOAD: at a 5 m single-feed maximum this is FOUR runs, four drivers, four feed points and four places for a driver to live. ⭐ Group them in one cupboard.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
300 watts — twenty metres at 15W per metre. Strip is specified per metre, so the total stays invisible until someone adds it up. That is a substantial connected load for what reads as a decorative detail, comparable to fifteen or twenty downlights, and it wants to be on the circuit schedule as a real number rather than as "strip lighting".
No. At a 5 metre single-feed maximum, twenty metres is four separate runs — so four drivers of about 90W each, four feed points, four cable routes and four places for a driver to live. None of that is stated on the listing: the wattage is per metre, the roll length is in the title, and the run limit is in the family description, and nothing multiplies them together.
Grouped in one cupboard, almost always. It costs more cable and saves every future service visit — one access point, one place to service. Distributed above a ceiling needs four access panels or they become unreachable, and inside joinery works only if each is behind a removable panel.
No. A 90W driver will not fit inside a cove detail. And the driver is the part that fails first in any low-voltage installation, so four of them sealed into a ceiling is four future problems. Plan the locations before the ceiling closes.
Worth asking, because the answer is often no. At 15W per metre this is task-level light, and twenty metres of task-level light is a lot of building to be working on. If most of the run is decorative — a cove, a shadow gap, a shelf line — the 5W version gives a third of the load, a third of the drivers, and reaches further.
Entirely reasonable, and often the right answer: task level where you work, low level where you do not. All four wattages carry the same 640 LEDs per metre, so they look identical and only differ in output. Tell us what each run is doing and we will specify accordingly.
Yes, if the wattage is the same. 640 LEDs per metre is constant across the range, so the dotless quality does not change — and within one wattage, one roll is one batch, which keeps the colour consistent across all four runs.
