A suggestion, not a specification. A calculator can get it wrong — have a licensed electrician confirm the driver, the total load and the wiring before you order.
The Domus PLEX-COB-10-IP67 is a 24 V COB LED strip — 10 W per metre, 640 LEDs per metre, 180° beam, IP67 silicon-coated, dimmable.
| Consequence | ⭐ Why |
|---|---|
| ⭐ A cut breaks the rating | ⭐ The seal IS the coating — cut it and the strip is open at the cut |
| ⭐ The connectors are for IP54 | ⭐ Domus describes them for "all our IP54 COB strip" — ⚠ they clip through a jacket that is not there |
| ⭐ It is slightly less bright | ⚠ Light passes through the coating — ⭐ no figure is published for the loss |
| ⭐ It is stiffer to bend | ⭐ A coated strip resists a tight radius more than a bare one |
⭐ Domus's own framing is unusually clear: IP54 is “Indoor Strip INCLUDING WET AREAS”, and IP67 is for “WATERPROOF installations”. ⭐ So a bathroom, a kitchen or a laundry is IP54 territory — ⭐ steam and splashing are covered. ⭐ IP67 is for water that arrives with force or sits: a hosed area, a floor detail that gets mopped, an outdoor position under cover. ⚠ Choosing IP67 for a bathroom vanity is paying for a coating you do not need and accepting the cutting limitation for nothing.
⭐ In capitals, at the end of the title — ⭐ so you know before opening the page that this does not light on its own. ⭐ 28 Domus listings do this. ⚠ The aluminium profiles, which need a strip AND a driver, do not.

COB LED strip, IP67 silicon coated. 10 W per metre at 24 V DC. 640 LEDs per metre, dotless. 3000 / 4000 / 5000 K. 180° beam. Dimmable. Driver required. 3-year warranty. ⭐⭐ THE IP67 COMES FROM A SILICON COATING, AND THAT ONE PHRASE EXPLAINS EVERYTHING ELSE: a cut breaks the rating because the seal IS the coating; the connectors are described for IP54 because they clip through a jacket that is not there; it is slightly less bright because light passes through the coating; and it is stiffer to bend. ⭐ THE RULE THAT FOLLOWS: plan an IP67 run to be cut as FEW times as possible, and put any unavoidable cut somewhere dry.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
A silicon coating. Domus states it: "Choose from IP54 Indoor Strip including wet areas, or for waterproof installations, the IP67 Strip with silicon coating." So it is not a different strip — it is the same strip inside a continuous silicon jacket.
Because that one phrase explains three things the catalogue otherwise leaves unconnected. A cut breaks the rating, because the seal is the coating. The connectors are described for IP54, because they clip through a jacket that is not there on a bare strip. And it is slightly less bright and stiffer to bend, because light passes through the coating and a coated strip resists a tight radius.
To be cut as few times as possible. Order lengths close to what you need rather than cutting a long piece down, and put any unavoidable cut somewhere dry. If the run genuinely must be cut and rejoined in a wet position, tell us before ordering — nothing published covers restoring the seal, and it is the one gap in this otherwise well-documented range.
Domus's own framing is unusually clear: IP54 is "indoor strip including wet areas" and IP67 is for "waterproof installations". So a bathroom, kitchen or laundry is IP54 territory — steam and splashing are covered. IP67 is for water that arrives with force or sits: a hosed area, a floor detail that gets mopped, an outdoor position under cover.
Yes. Choosing IP67 for a bathroom vanity is paying for a coating you do not need and accepting the cutting limitation for nothing. On a run that will need several cuts, that is a real cost rather than a theoretical one.
Not published. Light does pass through the coating, so an IP67 strip is slightly less bright than the identical IP54 one at the same wattage — but no figure is given for the loss. If you are working to a calculated level, ask us and we will get it.
Exactly what it says — the strip does not light on its own and needs a 24V DC driver. It is genuinely useful to have that before you click, and 28 Domus listings say it. Note the aluminium profiles, which need a strip and a driver, do not.
