DOMUS PIPE-60 LINEAR PENDANT

The Domus PIPE-60 is a 60 mm linear pendant — 21 W or 31 W, 1.2 m or 1.7 m, tri-colour, full wrap-around opal diffuser, in aluminium, black or white.

⛔⛔ One of its published lumen figures is missing a digit

• ⭐ The record lists four outputs: 658, 2349, 1797 and 2546 lm. ⚠ One of those is not like the others.
• ⭐ 658 lm from 21 W is 31 lumens per watt. ⛔ No LED pendant produces that — ⭐ it is roughly what a halogen lamp achieves. ⭐ That was the tell.
• ⭐ The supplier's own description reads: “Lumen Output: 1658lm/1797lm — 2349lm/2546lm”. ⭐ The figure is 1658, not 658. A leading 1 has been dropped somewhere between the description and the field.
• ⭐ Restored, the whole set makes sense:

⭐ Every value now sits between 76 and 86 lumens per watt, which is exactly right for a diffused linear pendant. ⚠ Use 1658 lm as the lower figure, not 658. ⭐ The difference is a factor of two and a half in a lighting calculation.

⭐ Osram boards and a remote driver — what each means for you

• ⭐ Domus names the LED source: Osram boards. ⚠ Very few fittings in this catalogue name their emitter at all, ⭐ and it matters for colour consistency between fittings and over time — a named emitter is a binned emitter.
• ⛔ “Supplied with remote driver which needs to be mounted separately.” ⭐ The driver is INCLUDED but does not live in the pendant — ⚠ so the ceiling needs somewhere accessible to put it, decided before the ceiling closes.
• ⭐ A remote driver is why a 60 mm tube can be this slim, ⭐ and it means the part most likely to fail is the part you can reach. ⭐ That is a real advantage, provided the location is planned.

⭐ Aluminium, black or white; 3000, 4000 or 5000 K. ⚠ The colour temperature is fixed at order — this listing is not switchable, ⭐ so choose it now. Over a dining table 3000 K; over a bench or a workspace 4000 K; in a retail or commercial fitout 4000 or 5000 K. ⛔ It is also non-dimmable, ⚠ so the level cannot be adjusted afterwards either.
