The Domus PANEL-BLT-303 is a 300 × 300 mm backlit LED panel for grid and plasterboard ceilings, with a flicker-free driver and switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5700 K, in Trio (dip switch) or DALI.

⚠ Two figures on this listing disagree with the datasheet, and we would rather tell you than pick one.

The 4000 K and 5700 K figures match exactly, so this is two specific numbers out of step, not two different products. If the wattage matters to your job — an energy calculation, a circuit schedule, a lighting design — ask us and we will confirm it with Domus in writing. For choosing a light for a room, treat it as a ~10–12 W panel giving about 1,000 lumens.

Backlit, and why it is not the same as an edge-lit panel
  • The LEDs sit behind the diffuser across the whole area, rather than around the rim firing sideways into a light guide.
  • ✅ The face lights evenly right to the edges — no dimmer corners, no faint banding, and no yellowing light guide in five years.
  • ✅ It is more efficient, because the light does not have to travel across a panel before it escapes.
  • ⚠ It is slightly deeper at 32 mm. In a grid ceiling that is irrelevant; in a shallow plasterboard void, check it.
⚠ Trio or DALI — and a question to settle before you order the DALI
  • Trio — colour temperature set by a dip switch on the cable, before installation. The residential and small-commercial choice.
  • DALI — addressable digital control, for a building with a lighting control system. Each fitting has an address and can be commanded individually.
  • ⛔ Our record says this fitting is not dimmable, and it also lists a DALI variant. Those two statements cannot both be right — DALI exists to dim and address fittings digitally. If you are specifying the DALI version into a control system, confirm the dimming behaviour with us first.
  • ⚠ Only the Trio variant appears in the datasheet's own item table, so the DALI version's figures are not independently confirmed here.
The flicker-free driver

Domus fits a harmonic filter to reduce total harmonic distortion, which is what causes visible strobing and the headaches and eye strain some people get under cheap LED panels.

  • ✅ It matters most where people sit under it all day — an office, a classroom, a study — and where cameras are used, because flicker shows as banding on video.
  • ✅ It is a genuine specification difference, not a marketing line: standard LED drivers that are not flicker-free are the reason panel lighting has the reputation it does.

Questions
Is it 10 W or 12 W?

The title and our record say 12 W and the datasheet says 10 W, and we are not going to quietly pick one. The lumen figures make it clear this is a numbers problem rather than two different products: the 4000 K and 5700 K outputs match the datasheet exactly and only the 3000 K figure differs. If the wattage feeds an energy calculation or a circuit schedule, ask us and we will confirm it with Domus in writing.

What is the difference between backlit and edge-lit?

Where the LEDs sit. In a backlit panel they are behind the diffuser across the whole area; in an edge-lit panel they are around the rim, firing sideways into a light guide. Backlit lights evenly right to the edges with no dimmer corners or faint banding, is more efficient because the light does not travel across the panel before escaping, and has no light guide to yellow over time. The trade-off is 32 mm of depth instead of about half that.

Should I get the Trio or the DALI version?

Trio for a home or a small commercial job — the colour temperature is set with a dip switch on the cable before installation and there is nothing else to configure. DALI only if the building has a digital lighting control system, where each fitting gets an address and can be commanded individually. If you are specifying the DALI version, talk to us first: our record says the fitting is not dimmable while also offering DALI, and those two statements cannot both be right.

What does "flicker-free" actually mean here?

How does it mount?

Three ways. It drops straight into a standard T-bar grid ceiling in place of a 300 mm tile with no extra parts. It goes into plasterboard with an optional plaster trim kit. And it can be surface mounted or wire suspended with another optional kit where the ceiling cannot be cut. Three methods, three different parts — tell us the ceiling and we will list what you need.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which is dry interiors only. For a bathroom ceiling you want something rated at least IP44, and we can point you to one.

Is a 300 × 300 panel bright enough for a room?

About 1,000 lumens covers a small area — a hallway, a laundry, a WC, a small office — or works as one of several in a larger grid ceiling. For a kitchen or a full-size office you would use several, or step up to a larger panel. Tell us the room and we will work out the count.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
