The Domus NOVA-17 SM is a surface-mounted aluminium LED profile, 17 × 7 mm in section and 3 metres long, supplied with an opal diffuser and end caps, in anodised aluminium, black or white.
Domus does not hold this profile on a shelf. It is made to order and cut to the length you need, and no standard lead time is published for it.
⛔ Tell us which LED strip you are running before you order this. A profile is a channel — an aluminium extrusion with a diffuser and end caps. The LED strip goes inside it and is bought separately.
The figure that decides whether they go together is the maximum strip width the channel accepts, and no source we hold records it. A 17 mm outer section is narrow, so the usable internal width is narrower still — a 10 mm COB strip will very likely fit and a wider one may not.
Send us the strip you intend to use and we will confirm the fit with Domus before anything ships. ⚠ Our record also describes this profile as having a “built-in LED”. It does not — it is an empty channel.
⛔ Maximum strip width. Internal channel dimensions. Diffuser transmission. Fixing method and whether clips are included. Weight. Warranty term.
None appears in the manufacturer's data or our own record, and there is no datasheet for this profile. Ask us with the strip you intend to run and we will confirm every one of them.
Surface-mount aluminium LED profile, 17 × 7 mm section, 3 m length, supplied with an opal diffuser and end caps. Anodised aluminium, black or white. Indoor.
⛔ The LED strip and its driver are sold separately, and no source records the maximum strip width this channel accepts — the one dimension that decides whether the two go together. Internal dimensions, diffuser transmission, fixing method, included clips, weight and warranty term are all unrecorded, and there is no datasheet. ⚠ Our record describes it as having a built-in LED; it is an empty channel. Send us the strip you intend to run and we will confirm the fit before you order.

No. A profile is a channel — an aluminium extrusion with an opal diffuser and end caps. The LED strip goes inside it and is bought separately, along with its driver. This listing is the channel, the diffuser and the caps.
Tell us which one you are considering and we will confirm with Domus. The figure that decides it is the maximum strip width the channel accepts, and no source we hold records it. A 17 mm outer section is narrow, so the usable internal width is narrower still — a 10 mm COB strip will very likely fit and a wider one may not. That is not something to discover after both have shipped.
Four reasons, and the first is the one people underestimate. Aluminium is a heatsink: strip run bare against plasterboard or timber runs hotter, and heat is what shortens its life and shifts its colour. The opal diffuser turns a line of LEDs into a line of light and hides the tape and solder joints. The channel protects the strip from knocks and cleaning. And it makes the installation look built rather than added.
With a dotless COB strip, yes. With an ordinary SMD strip, less reliably — the closer a diffuser sits to the LEDs, the harder it is to hide them, and a 7 mm profile is very shallow. That is why a COB strip is the sensible partner for a section this slim.
Yes — aluminium cuts cleanly with a mitre saw and a fine blade. Deburr the cut end before the diffuser goes in or it will scar. Remember each cut length needs its own end caps: two 1.5 m runs from one 3 m length need four caps, not two. Tell us the run layout and we will count them.
Set the profile lengths and the strip sections out together rather than separately. A COB strip cuts every 25 mm, so the two have to agree — planning the channel first and the strip afterwards is how you end up with a join in the wrong place.
Anodised aluminium is the default and disappears against most metal and stone. Black sits against dark joinery and reads as a shadow line when unlit. White is for white cabinetry and painted plasterboard, where the profile is meant not to be seen at all.
