MURO-PRO-15 Single Head Exterior Spotlight

The Domus MURO-PRO-15 is a single-head exterior spotlight — 15 W, 950–1,050 lumens, IP54, 120° beam, switchable 3000/4000/5000 K, in black, dark grey or white.

• ⭐⭐ THE SENSOR VERSION, THE MURO-PRO-15S, HAS A SPEC TABLE SAYING IP54 WHILE ITS OWN PROSE AND ITS RECORD BOTH SAY IP44. ⭐ Having a clean sibling in the same family is what makes that identifiable as an unaltered spec table rather than an oddity.
• ⭐ SO THE PRACTICAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO PRODUCTS IS NOT ONLY THE SENSOR — ⭐ this one is dust-protected and the sensor version is not.
• ⭐ IF THE SITE IS RURAL, EXPOSED OR DUSTY, THAT IS AN ARGUMENT FOR THE PLAIN FITTING plus a separate sensor, ⭐ rather than the integrated sensor version.

⭐ IP54 and what it does not cover

• ⭐ IP5X is dust-protected — dust may enter but not in a quantity that interferes. IPX4 covers splashing water from any direction.
• ⛔ NOT JETS, NOT HOSING, NOT SUSTAINED DRIVING RAIN. ⚠ So it is a sheltered-position fitting: under an eave, on a wall that is not the weather side, or in a spot where a roof or overhang breaks the rain.
• ⭐ IT IS DIE-CAST ALUMINIUM WITH A GLASS COVER, which is the right construction for exposure — ⭐ glass does not yellow the way an acrylic lens does, so the output stays where it started.
• ⚠ THE GLASS-TO-CASTING SEAL IS THE MAINTENANCE POINT. ⭐ Check it when you clean the fitting, and clean the glass rather than leaving it — a filmed lens costs more output than people expect.

⭐ 120° is a flood, whatever the name says

• ⭐ 950 lm at 3000 K, 1,050 at 4000, 1,000 at 5000, over a 120° beam.
• ⭐⭐ A 120° BEAM IS A FLOOD, NOT A SPOT. ⭐ It covers a wide area at low intensity rather than picking an object out of the dark.
• ⭐ SO IT SUITS A DRIVEWAY, A YARD, A SIDE PATH OR A WORKING AREA — ⭐ anywhere the job is general coverage. ⚠ For uplighting a tree, grazing a wall or highlighting a feature you want 15–24°, which this fitting does not offer.
• ⭐ NOTE THAT 4000 K IS THE BRIGHTEST SETTING — ⭐ 1,050 lm against 1,000 at 5000 K and 950 at 3000 K. ⚠ The cooler setting is not the brighter one here, which is unusual and worth knowing if you are choosing on output.
• ⭐ OUTDOORS, 3000 K IS STILL USUALLY THE RIGHT CHOICE. ⭐ It flatters brick, render, timber and planting where 5000 K reads as institutional — and the 100-lumen difference is not visible.

⭐ Bridgelux LEDs and a 30,000-hour life

⭐ The sheet names Bridgelux as the LED, which is unusual — most fittings in this catalogue say only “SMD”. ⭐⭐ A NAMED CHIP MANUFACTURER IS A MILD QUALITY SIGNAL: it means the maker is willing to be held to a known part rather than whatever was cheapest that quarter. ⭐ Lifespan is 30,000 hrs rather than the 50,000 most fittings here claim. ⚠ That is not a defect — a spotlight runs hotter in a sealed die-cast body than a downlight does, and a realistic figure is more useful than an optimistic one. ⭐ At four hours a night it is about twenty years.

⛔ Not dimmable

⭐ The sheet says dimmable = No. ⚠ Do not put it on a dimmer circuit — a non-dimmable driver on a dimmer will flicker, buzz or fail. ⭐ On an exterior spotlight that is rarely a loss; it is a security and utility fitting rather than a mood one. ⭐ If you want it to come on automatically, the MURO-PRO-15S adds a PIR sensor — ⚠ at IP44 rather than IP54, so check the site before choosing it.
