The Domus MURO-MAX-16S is a 16 W single-head exterior spotlight with a slimline sensor in black or white — IP65, 1,800 lumens, CRI above 90, die-cast aluminium with a glass cover.
✅ One head, not two — and that is a real choice, not a lesser product. A single head is the right fitting when:
✅ 1,800 lm is still a lot of light from one head — more than the whole twin-head MURO-ECO gives at 2,100 across two.
They are near-identically named, and nothing explained how they relate:
| Fitting | Heads | Output | Body | Sensor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MURO-MAX-16S | 1 | 1,800 lm | Aluminium | Yes |
| MURO-MAX-32S | 2 | 3,600 lm | Aluminium | Yes |
| MURO-MAX-32 | 2 | 3,600 lm | Aluminium | No — switched |
| MURO-ECO-20S | 2 | 2,100 lm | Polycarbonate | Yes |
| MURO-ECO-20 | 2 | 2,100 lm | Polycarbonate | No — switched |
⚠ The body matters as much as the output. On a coastal site, the polycarbonate ECO is the better choice even though it is dimmer — aluminium corrodes at the coating edges where salt gets in, and polycarbonate cannot.
⚠ The 180° detection is not the beam. The light covers 100°.
1,700 lm at 3000 K, 1,800 lm at 4000 K, 1,600 lm at 5000 K — 113 lm/W, efficient for an exterior fitting. IP65, 30,000 hours, not dimmable, colour set on a dip switch at the back before installation. Warranty 3 years.
Single head, die-cast aluminium with a glass cover, black or white. 16 W COB LED giving 1,700 / 1,800 / 1,600 lm at 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, dip switch at the back; CRI >90, beam 100°, 30,000 hrs, not dimmable. Sensor: 180° detection to about 12 m; duration adjustable 10 s–4 min; lux threshold adjustable daylight to night. 240 V AC, IP65. Warranty 3 years.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Because two heads aimed at the same place is wasted. A single head is right when you are lighting one thing — a doorway, a gate, a path, a corner — when the position is narrow, or when 3,600 lumens would simply be too much for a small courtyard. And 1,800 lumens from one head is still a lot: more than the whole twin-head MURO-ECO gives across two.
They are one platform in five configurations. MURO-MAX-16S is single head with a sensor at 1,800lm; MURO-MAX-32S is twin head with a sensor at 3,600lm; MURO-MAX-32 is the same twin head switched instead; and the MURO-ECO-20S and -20 are twin head at 2,100lm in a polycarbonate body, with and without a sensor. Nothing on the pages explained that.
The polycarbonate MURO-ECO, even though it is dimmer. Aluminium corrodes at the coating edges where salt gets in; polycarbonate cannot. The body matters as much as the output near the sea.
Aim it down and inward — on a single-head fitting this matters more than usual, because the sensor sees 180° to about 12 metres, far wider than the 100° the light covers, so it will trigger for things well outside the lit area. Set the lux threshold to night, and start the duration in the middle of its 10-second to 4-minute range.
No — 100°. The 180° figure is the sensor’s detection angle, which is a different specification.
Planting reads green rather than grey, where most exterior fittings sit in the seventies — and security footage becomes genuinely useful, since a camera can only record the colour the light provides.
No. Colour temperature is selectable on a dip switch at the back before installation, but the output is not adjustable.
