The Domus Muro Eco 10S is a 10 W single-head exterior LED spotlight with an integrated slimline sensor — three switchable colour temperatures, IP65, in a polycarbonate and glass body for coastal exposure.
| How it is run | Hours/night | Years to 30,000 hrs |
|---|---|---|
| ⭐ Sensor, short dwell | ⭐ ≈1 | ⭐ ≈80 years — effectively indefinite |
| Sensor, generous dwell | ≈4 | ≈20 years |
| ⚠ Dusk-to-dawn | ≈10 | ⚠ ≈8 years |
⭐ Polycarbonate and glass, IP65. ⚠ A powder-coated aluminium fitting near surf will blister and corrode at the fixings; ⭐ polycarbonate has nothing to corrode. ⭐ IP65 means it can be hosed — ⭐ and rinsing salt off is the single most effective thing you can do for any coastal fitting.
1000 lm at 3000 K, 1050 lm at 4000 K, 1000 lm at 5000 K — ⭐ a 5% spread. ⭐ So the colour temperature here is an appearance choice, not a performance one, ⚠ unlike the switchable downlights in this catalogue, which vary by 17%.
| Specification | Value |
|---|---|
| Light output | 1000 / 1050 / 1000 lm at 3000 / 4000 / 5000 K |
| Rated life | ⭐ 30,000 hrs |
| Sensor | ⭐ Integrated, 180° over ≈12 m |
| Power | 10 W at 240 V AC |
| IP rating | ⭐ IP65 — dust-tight, hose-proof |
| Beam | 100° |
| Body | ⭐ Polycarbonate and glass |
| ⛔ Dimmable | ⛔ No |
| Warranty | ⭐ 3 years, replacement |
10 W single-head exterior LED spotlight with integrated slimline sensor. 1000 / 1050 / 1000 lm at 3000 / 4000 / 5000 K switchable. 100° beam. IP65. Polycarbonate and glass. 30,000 hrs rated life. Sensor 180° over ≈12 m. Not dimmable. 240 V AC. 3-year replacement warranty. ⭐ THE SENSOR IS WHAT MAKES THE FITTING LAST — at 30,000 rated hours, a short-dwell sensor circuit runs about 1 hour a night and takes roughly 80 years to get there, where dusk-to-dawn at 10 hours takes about 8. ⭐ Set the dwell short: a 30-second hold does the job a 5-minute hold does at a tenth of the running hours.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
Domus publishes a 30,000-hour rated life, which most of their products do not. What that means in years depends entirely on how it is run: a short-dwell sensor circuit averaging about an hour a night takes roughly 80 years to get there, a generous-dwell sensor at 4 hours takes about 20, and dusk-to-dawn at 10 hours takes about 8. The sensor changes the answer by an order of magnitude.
Short. A 30-second hold does the same job as a 5-minute hold for someone walking to a door, and costs a tenth of the running hours. On a fitting with a published rated life that is a direct trade between convenience and service life, and the short setting is almost always the better one.
180 degrees over about 12 metres, which suits a doorway, a path or a side access. It is not a whole-driveway detector — for a larger area you would want either a separate sensor with a wider throw or several fittings. Tell us the space and we will work out whether one covers it.
Because there is no metal to corrode. A powder-coated aluminium fitting within a few hundred metres of surf will eventually blister and corrode at the fixings, which is where salt collects. Polycarbonate and glass sidesteps that entirely. IP65 also means it can be hosed, and rinsing salt off is the single most effective thing you can do for any coastal fitting.
Barely — 1000 lumens at 3000K, 1050 at 4000K and 1000 at 5000K, a 5% spread. So here the colour temperature is an appearance choice rather than a performance one. That is unlike the switchable downlights in this catalogue, which vary by 17% across their settings.
No — Domus records it as not dimmable, which is normal for a sensor exterior fitting. Do not fit a dimmer to it. If you want a dimmed exterior scheme, that needs a different fitting and a different control approach; ask us.
No. The warranty is three years, replacement type. The 30,000-hour figure is a design life — the point at which output has degraded to a defined fraction of the original — not a period of cover. Both are useful and they answer different questions.
