The Domus IMPACT-60 is a 600 mm weatherproof and vandal-resistant LED batten — switchable 10 W or 20 W, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, IP66, IK10, in an aluminium body.

⭐ A short batten built for a public space

• ⭐ 600 mm, aluminium, IP66 and IK10. ⭐ That combination is unusual at this length — most short battens are indoor plastic fittings.
• ⭐ Domus describes the IMPACT range as weatherproof AND vandalproof, aimed at public areas. ⭐ A metal body survives deliberate abuse in a way a plastic one does not, whatever a calibrated impact test says.
• ⭐ Which makes this the fitting for the awkward short positions in a public building — a subway alcove, a stair landing, a lift lobby, a bin store — where a 1,200 mm batten will not fit and a plastic one will not last.
• ⚠ IP66 means powerful jets, so it also suits anywhere hosed in earnest.

⭐ Its datasheet is where the T8 confusion comes from — and it settles it

• The sheet reads: “The IMPACT LED Weatherproof and Vandalproof Batten series are a direct replacement to traditional T8 and T5 Fluorescent battens.”
• ⭐ “Replacement TO” is the operative phrase. ⭐ It replaces those fittings. It does not take their tubes.
• ⛔ Twelve Domus batten listings record a lamp type of “T8”, including this one. ⭐ Of 30 batten listings, 15 record nothing and 3 record “Built-in LED” — so T8 is the anomaly, not a convention.
• ⚠ We checked whether the field had simply been copied from that sentence, and it does not hold: only 3 of the 12 T8 listings have a sheet carrying the phrase, and 14 sheets carry it with no T8 field. ⭐ So we are not offering an explanation for the error — only the correction: this batten has SMD LEDs sealed in, and there is no tube.

⚠ Splitting into two fittings buys nothing here either

• ⭐ Flat, like the IMPACT-120. Two at 10 W give the same 2,400 lm as one at 20 W.
• ⭐ So the choice is coverage only. ⚠ The HYDRO ranges behave differently — the HYDRO-120 gains about 13% from splitting, the HYDRO-60 about 3%.
• ⭐ A rule of thumb learned on one Domus batten range does not transfer to another.

• Wash-down areas using powerful jets — IP66.
• Plant and service spaces where fittings get knocked.
• ⚠ Not where a HYDRO-60 would do — heavier and dearer in a clean sheltered space.
• ⚠ Not on a dimming circuit without the sensor variant.
