Domus HYDRO-60-EM - 7.5W/15W LED Tri-Colour 600mm Emergency Weatherproof Batten IP65 with Optional Sensor

The Domus HYDRO-60-EM is a 600 mm emergency weatherproof LED batten — switchable 7.5 W or 15 W, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, IP65, compliant to AS/NZS 2293, with an optional sensor. 5-year warranty.

⭐ It carries the same emergency classification as the 1,200 mm version

• ⭐ Less than half the light, and the same recorded classification.
• ⭐ If the classification is what sets spacing — and under AS/NZS 2293.1 it is — then the short batten covers the same emergency spacing as the long one. ⭐ Which means a designer can use the smaller fitting in a tight ceiling without adding emergency positions.
• ⚠ That is what the two datasheets record, and it is worth confirming before anyone designs to it, because the consequence is a positions count. ⭐ Ask us and we will get it from Domus in writing.
• ⭐ Where it changes the answer: a corridor or plant room that cannot take a 1,200 mm fitting, or a job where the general lighting is separate and the emergency batten only has to meet spacing.

⛔ The same two-duration problem

The sheet gives “1.5 Hours Discharging Time” — 90 minutes — and separately “120 Min”. ⛔ Both on the same document. ⚠ 90 against 120 minutes is a compliance distinction and a certifier checks the figure. ⭐ Ask us before specifying to a duration.

✅ What it does publish

• ✅ Fully compliant to AS/NZS 2293.
• ✅ LiFePO4 battery, 6.4 V, 1,500 mAh at 0.2 CmA, 7-hour charge. ⭐ The same battery as the 1,200 mm version — ⭐ which is consistent with the matching classification.
• ✅ Non-maintained / maintained rated — ⭐ maintained where the batten does the everyday lighting, non-maintained where it exists only for the escape route. ⚠ The mode affects the wiring; tell your electrician.
• ⭐ Its DALI emergency sibling publishes none of this.

⚠ On the 600 mm, the two-small-fittings argument is much weaker

• ⭐ Two at 7.5 W give about 1,960 lm against 1,900 lm from one at 15 W — roughly 3% more.
• ⚠ On the 1,200 mm version the same comparison is 13%. ⭐ So the argument for splitting into two fittings is strong on the long batten and weak on this one — here it is a spacing decision, not an efficiency one.
• ⭐ Worth stating because the intuition does not transfer between the two sizes, and both pages would otherwise read the same.

Specifying it

• IP65, polycarbonate with a frosted polycarbonate diffuser, CRI ≥80, 120°, 50,000 hrs, 240 V, SMD LEDs.
• ⭐ Domus describes the range as a direct replacement for traditional T8 and T5 fluorescent battens — ⚠ it replaces those fittings; it does not take their tubes.
• ⭐ Colour-matched to concrete ceilings, with a quick-fix mounting system.
• ⛔ Not dimmable as a luminaire; the Dimmable Sensor variant dims via the sensor.
• ✅ 5-year warranty recorded — ⚠ battery inclusion not stated. Ask us.

Where it works

• Corridors, plant rooms and stairwells too tight for a 1,200 mm fitting.
• Washdown areas and undercover walkways — IP65.
• Emergency positions where spacing, not output, is the constraint.
• ⚠ Not specified to a duration until we have confirmed 90 or 120 minutes.
• ⚠ Not where you need the light output of the 1,200 mm version.
