The Domus HYDRO-120-EM is a 1,200 mm emergency weatherproof LED batten — switchable 15 W or 30 W, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5000 K, IP65, compliant to AS/NZS 2293, with an optional sensor. 5-year warranty.

✅ It publishes the emergency data — which most of this platform does not

• ⭐ The classification is the figure a designer counts fittings with. AS/NZS 2293.1 turns C0 and C90 values into a spacing table — ⭐ a lumen figure cannot do that job, which is why so many emergency listings are unusable without it.
• ⭐ Worth saying plainly: the DALI emergency versions of this same batten publish none of this. ⭐ So this is the reference listing for the platform, and if you are comparing, start here.
• ⭐ LiFePO4 rather than NiCd or NiMH — ⭐ it tolerates heat better and holds capacity over more cycles, which on a fitting that is discharge-tested for years is the part that matters.

⛔ The sheet gives TWO durations, and the difference is a compliance one

• “1.5 Hours Discharging Time” — 90 minutes.
• “120 Min” — 120 minutes.
• ⛔ Both appear on the same datasheet. ⚠ We are not going to pick one.
• ⭐ It matters because duration is not a preference. 90 minutes is the common Australian requirement; 120 minutes exceeds it — and a certifier checks the figure, not the intention.
• ⭐ Ask us before specifying to a duration. ⭐ We will get it from Domus in writing — a short question with a definite answer, and the wrong assumption is expensive after installation.

⭐ Maintained or non-maintained — one fitting does both

• ⭐ Maintained: the batten is lit all the time and stays lit when the power fails. Non-maintained: it is dark normally and lights only on failure.
• ⭐ Both from one product is genuinely useful — you can use the same fitting for general lighting that doubles as emergency cover, and for pure emergency positions, without stocking two.
• ⭐ Which to choose: maintained where the batten is doing the everyday lighting (a carpark, a corridor); non-maintained where it exists only for the escape route and running it constantly would waste energy and lamp life.
• ⚠ The mode is set at installation and affects the wiring. ⭐ Tell your electrician which you want before they start.

⭐ Two switches, and the low wattage is the efficient one

• ⭐ 15 W returns about 160 lm/W; 30 W about 142. Two battens at 15 W give roughly 4,800 lm against 4,250 lm from one at 30 W — about 13% more light for the same power, over twice the length.
• ⭐ On an emergency layout that argument is stronger still, because two fittings give two emergency points and the classification is about spacing, not total output.
• ⚠ It costs a second battery to maintain and test. ⭐ That is the real trade-off, and it is worth weighing rather than assuming.

Specifying it

• IP65, polycarbonate body with a frosted polycarbonate diffuser, CRI ≥80, 120°, 50,000 hrs, 240 V, SMD LEDs.
• ⭐ Domus describes the range as a direct replacement for traditional T8 and T5 fluorescent battens — ⚠ which means it replaces those fittings, not that it takes their tubes. ⭐ There is no tube: the LEDs are sealed in.
• ⭐ Colour-matched to concrete ceilings and built with a quick-fix mounting system, both of which matter on a carpark soffit where you are installing many.
• ⛔ The luminaire is NOT dimmable. ⭐ The Dimmable Sensor variant means the sensor dims it — low standby when empty, full on detection.
• ✅ 5-year warranty, recorded. ⚠ Whether the battery is inside that term is not stated — ⭐ ask us; this catalogue does it both ways.
