The Domus GTA-94 is a post-top thread adaptor for the traditional exterior range — aluminium, in five colours, made to order.
⭐ Beige, black, burgundy, green and white, applied to order. ⭐⭐ THE ADAPTOR SITS AT THE JOINT BETWEEN LANTERN AND POST, SO IT IS MOSTLY HIDDEN — but a mismatched collar at that joint is exactly the sort of detail that reads as wrong. ⭐ Order it in the colour of the post and lantern it is joining, not the colour the range was originally specified in; on a property lit ten years ago those may differ. ⚠ And expect a new adaptor to be brighter than the weathered parts either side of it. ⭐ At a joint that is usually acceptable, and it is one of the few places on an exterior fitting where a slight mismatch genuinely does not matter.
⭐ The supply cable runs from the post, through the adaptor, into the lantern. ⭐⭐ LEAVE ENOUGH SLACK AT THE JOINT TO MAKE THE CONNECTION COMFORTABLY, and dress the cable so it is not pinched as the adaptor is threaded home — ⭐ a cable trapped in a thread is a fault that appears months later, when vibration has worn through the insulation. ⭐ Check the cable entry is protected against the aluminium edge, and that any grommet is seated before final assembly. ⚠ This is an electrician's job.
Allow up to 10 business days for production. ⚠ Which is exactly why it should be ordered with the fitting rather than after it.
| Specification | Value |

| ⭐⭐ What it does | ⭐ Joins a post-top lantern to its post |
| ⚠ The commonest omission | ⚠ Discovered on installation day |
| ⛔ And on a made-to-order range | ⛔ That is a TEN-DAY stop, ⚠ not a trip to the wholesaler |
| ⚠ "Traditional exterior range" | ⚠ A range description — ⭐ spans several families |
| ⭐⭐ The THREAD is what must match | ⭐ Diameter, pitch and length — ⚠ not judgeable from a photo |
| ⚠ A nearly-right thread | ⚠ Is worse than a wrong one — ⭐ it starts, then binds |
| ⭐ Confirm by | ⭐ GT code + post outside diameter + a photo of the joint |
| ⚠ Thread spec NOT published | ⚠ For a connector that is the whole product |
| ⭐ Colour | ⭐ 5, to order — ⭐ match the parts either side, ⚠ not the range |
| ⭐ No electrical fields | ⭐ Correct — ⚠ 83 of 104 passive parts carry one |
Post-top thread adaptor to suit the traditional exterior range. Aluminium, five colours applied to order. No electrical parts. Made to order, up to 10 business days. 1-year warranty. ⭐ THIS IS THE PART THAT MAKES A LANTERN AND A POST INTO A FITTING, AND IT IS THE COMMONEST OMISSION ON AN OTHERWISE COMPLETE ORDER. The lantern is specified, the post is specified, the cable is run — and the adaptor is discovered on installation day, when the two parts will not meet. On a made-to-order range that is a ten-day stop with the post standing and the lantern on the ground. ⚠ "TRADITIONAL EXTERIOR RANGE" IS A RANGE DESCRIPTION RATHER THAN A PART NUMBER, and the thread is what has to match — diameter, pitch and length, none of which is judgeable from a photograph, and a nearly-right thread is worse than an obviously wrong one because it will start and then bind. ⚠ THE THREAD SPECIFICATION IS NOT PUBLISHED. Ask us.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
It joins a post-top lantern to its post. A lantern and a post are two separate things and something has to connect them; this is the threaded adaptor that does it.
Because it is invisible in the specification. The lantern is chosen, the post is chosen, the cable is run — and the adaptor is discovered on installation day, when the two parts will not meet. On a made-to-order range that is a ten-day stop rather than a trip to the wholesaler, with the post standing and the lantern on the ground.
Confirm the full parts list before ordering — lantern, post, base, adaptor — and tell us the arrangement rather than the part numbers if you are unsure. We would rather check than have you wait.
That depends on the thread, and "traditional exterior range" is a range description rather than a part number — it covers several families that share a visual language but not necessarily every component. The thread has to match on diameter, pitch and length, none of which is judgeable from a photograph, and a nearly-right thread is worse than an obviously wrong one because it will start and then bind.
The GT code on the original fitting, the outside diameter of the post at its top, and a photograph of the existing joint. If you are joining parts from two different families, ask first — it sometimes works and sometimes does not, and the answer is not deducible from the listings.
No, and for a connector the thread is the whole product. Its dimensions are not listed either — a length and an outside diameter would let a buyer check compatibility without asking. Ask us and we will confirm with Domus before you order.
The colour of the post and lantern it is joining, not the colour the range was originally specified in — on a property lit ten years ago those may differ. The adaptor sits at the joint so it is mostly hidden, but a mismatched collar there is exactly the sort of detail that reads as wrong. Expect a new adaptor to be brighter than the weathered parts either side; at a joint that is usually acceptable, and it is one of the few places on an exterior fitting where a slight mismatch genuinely does not matter.
