The Domus GT-672 Vienna is a straight-arm downward wall light — 510 mm high, 300 mm wide, 260 mm projection, IP23, taking one B22 lamp, in aluminium. Five powder-coated colours.

⛔ Read this before you buy globes — it is B22, and its own twin is E27

• ⛔ The same bracket facing the other way records a different lamp base.
• ⚠ B22 and E27 do not interchange. A bayonet globe pushes and twists; an Edison screw threads. Neither fits the other holder.
• ⚠ So the obvious purchase — one up and one down at the same entrance — needs two different globes, and neither listing mentions it.
• ⭐ On the balance of the range this fitting is the normal one: 22 of the 25 Vienna listings record B22 and only two record E27.
• ⚠ We cannot tell whether the GT-671 is genuinely different or simply recorded wrongly, and we are not going to guess. ⭐ Tell us what you are ordering and we will confirm both with Domus before you buy lamps.

⛔ IP23 — and what that actually means

• IP23 and IP43 carry the same second digit, 3, meaning protection against spraying water. ⭐ So this is not less waterproof than the Monaco or Siena ranges.
• ⛔ The difference is the first digit — solid ingress. IP43 excludes anything over 1 mm; IP23 only anything over 12.5 mm, so insects, seed and fine debris can enter.
• ✅ Facing downward, that matters far less than it does on the upward version. ⭐ A downward lantern sheds what lands on it; an upward one collects it.
• ⭐ So of the two Vienna wall lights, this is the one that stays cleaner — a real advantage under trees or anywhere with leaf drop.
• ⭐ It is a range characteristic: 20 of the 25 Vienna listings record IP23, where all 14 Monaco and all 24 Siena listings record IP43.

⭐ Downward is the wall light that lights a threshold

• ⭐ The lantern faces down, so the light lands on the doorstep, the path or the stair beneath it rather than up the wall.
• ⭐ Which is what an entrance usually needs. An upward fitting lifts a facade and looks handsome; a downward one lets you see the step.
• ⭐ Many entrances use both — upward along the elevation, downward over the door. ⚠ Just remember the two take different globes.
• ✅ 260 mm projection, which is modest — it will sit comfortably beside a door or in a passage.

⛔ What is not recorded

• ⛔ No maximum lamp wattage in any source — the same gap across all these traditional ranges. ✅ We would fit an 8–10 W B22 LED, warm at 2700–3000 K, rated for enclosed and damp use.
• ⚠ B22 LEDs are less widely stocked than E27, particularly in warm colour temperatures and compact shapes. ⭐ Ask us and we will supply lamps with the fitting rather than leave you hunting.
• ⛔ No fixing detail or fastener specification is recorded.

Where it works

• Over a door or a doorstep, where you need the threshold lit.
• Above external stairs.
• Under trees or heavy leaf drop — ⭐ the downward orientation stays cleaner than the upward one.
• Traditional and period elevations.
