This is a replacement face plate for the Domus TACK-8 downlight — in black or satin nickel. It is a fascia ring, not a light.

⭐ What you are buying
  • ⭐ The TACK-8 downlight ships with a white fascia in the box. Its datasheet says so: “The TACK series comes standard in the box with a white fascia. For Black and Satin Chrome finishes, simply remove the White Fascia…”
  • ✅ So this plate is how you change the finish. One downlight SKU covers three finishes, which means a late change of ceiling colour costs a fascia rather than a fitting.

  • ⭐ The deep-set frame recesses the source, so you see a lit aperture rather than the LED itself when looking across a room. That is what “anti-glare” means in practice, and it is the reason to choose a TACK over a TICK.
  • ⚠ The trade-off is a slightly narrower effective spread at wide angles, because the frame shades the beam edge. On a low ceiling with widely spaced fittings that can leave scallops.

Just the plate — a fascia ring, not a light. The TACK-8 downlight ships with a white fascia already in the box, and this is how you change the finish to black or satin nickel. It is a sensible arrangement: one downlight SKU covers three finishes, so a late change of ceiling colour costs a fascia rather than a fitting. Keep the white plate the downlight came with; it is the one most likely to be wanted again.

What is the difference between a TACK and a TICK?

The fascia. The TACK has a deep-set anti-glare frame and the TICK has a flat one — the same 8W light engine, 750–800lm, Ø90–100mm cutout and 110° beam behind both. The deep-set frame recesses the source so you see a lit aperture rather than the LED itself when looking across a room, which is the reason to choose it. The trade-off is a slightly narrower effective spread at wide angles, because the frame shades the beam edge — on a low ceiling with widely spaced fittings that can leave scallops.

Will it fit a TICK-8?

No — the plates are not interchangeable. The TACK fascia is deep-set and the TICK fascia is flat, so they are different parts even though the light engine behind them is the same. Order the plate that matches your downlight, and check which you have before ordering a quantity.

Is it satin nickel or satin chrome?

The variant here is called Satin Nickel and that is what you will receive; the datasheet prose says Satin Chrome. Why does the datasheet describe a downlight?

Because it is the downlight's sheet rather than the plate's — it carries 8W, 750lm, a Ø90–100mm cutout and a 110° beam, none of which describes a fascia ring. Something worth knowing: our checking process flags this listing's sheet as not matching the SKU, while it marks the equivalent TICK plate "verified" — purely because that SKU happens to appear in its sheet's item table and this one does not. Can I change the fascia after installation?

Yes — the datasheet describes simply removing the white fascia and fitting the alternative, so a ceiling that gets repainted dark does not need the downlights changed. Isolate the fitting first, and take the chance to check the fascia seating: a plate that has been in place for years can hold dust that shows once a new one is on.

Do I need one per downlight?

Yes, each fitting takes its own fascia. Worth counting carefully on a large job, because the plates are ordered separately from the downlights and it is easy to be one or two short at fit-off. Tell us the downlight count and we will match the quantity.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.
