Domus DRIVER 24V DC IP20 Dimmable

The Domus DRIVER-24V-IP20-DIM is an indoor dimmable 24 V DC constant-voltage LED driver — IP20, in 20, 30, 60 and 100 W, 100 × 36 × 18 mm.

⛔ Its record says 12W, and that is not one of its options

• The variants are 20, 30, 60 and 100 W. The record says 12 W.
• ⭐ The likely source is its own output voltage. This is a 24 V driver in a body shared with the 12 V version — and 12 is the 12 V figure. A voltage appears to have been recorded as a wattage.
• ⚠ Ignore it and choose from the dropdown. ⛔ Two drivers in this range record a wattage that is not a variant, and both have a plausible wrong-field source.

⭐ 24 V, and when to choose it

• ⭐ At the same power, 24 V draws half the current of 12 V, so half the volt drop over the same cable.
• ✅ Which matters on long strip runs. A 12 V cove that fades noticeably towards the far end usually would not have, at 24 V.
• ⭐ It also means more strip per driver. At 100 W, a 24 V run can be physically longer before volt drop becomes the limit.
• ⛔ But every fitting on the run must be 24 V. A 12 V strip on a 24 V supply fails immediately. Check the strip before choosing the driver.

⭐ Small enough to hide

• 100 × 36 × 18 mm. ⭐ 18 mm deep fits a joinery void, a pelmet or a shadow gap without building a housing.
• ⚠ Hidden but reachable. The driver is the part most likely to fail; the LEDs outlive it.
• ⭐ If it will not fit, the slim linear drivers are 30 mm wide and 18.5 mm deep — longer but narrower, and they lie inside a profile channel. ⚠ At the cost of efficiency: 79% against this driver's 89%.

⚠ A weight pattern that is now consistent across both voltages

• ⚠ In both voltages the dimmable driver is recorded lighter than the non-dimmable one, which runs the wrong way — the dimmable version has more circuitry.
• ⭐ And the slim linear pair runs the RIGHT way (350 g dimmable, 200 g non-dimmable), which makes a transposition on the compact pair the more likely reading.
• ⚠ Still an inference, and we have not changed either figure. It does not affect the specification; ask us if you are calculating a load on a bracket.

Specifying it

• 24 V DC output, 240 V AC input.
• Efficiency up to 89%; PF >0.95.
• IP20 — indoor dry locations only. No water protection at all.
• Dimmable — ⚠ tell us the dimmer. A constant-voltage driver on a mismatched dimmer flickers at low levels, and a light load makes it worse.
• ⭐ Parallel wiring. ⚠ Size with about 20% headroom — 24 V strip at 14.4 W per metre over 5 m is 72 W, so the 100 W driver.
• ⛔ No warranty recorded. ⚠ Its IP67 siblings' prose states 5 years; ask us.
