Domus DRIVER 12V IP20 Linear Non-Dimmable

The Domus DRIVER-12V-SLIM is a slim linear non-dimmable 12 V DC constant-voltage LED driver — 260 × 30 × 18.5 mm, IP20, in 30, 60, 100 and 150 W.

⭐ The shape is the reason to choose it

• 260 × 30 × 18.5 mm. ⭐ At 30 mm wide it lies inside an aluminium profile channel or along a shadow gap where a compact 36 mm driver will not.
• ⭐ Which solves the problem that spoils most strip installations: the driver ends up somewhere visible, or somewhere unreachable, because nobody allowed for it at design stage.
• ⚠ Hidden but reachable. The driver is the part most likely to fail in a strip installation — the LEDs outlive it — so do not seal it in permanently.
• ⚠ It is 260 mm long, which is a real length. Check the run has a straight 260 mm to give it.

⭐ Non-dimmable is a specification, not a limitation

• ✅ The most common complaint about LED strip is flicker at low dimming levels, and it is almost always a dimmer-and-driver mismatch. A non-dimmable driver removes that failure mode entirely.
• ⭐ So specify it wherever the lighting is switched rather than dimmed — under-cabinet task strip, wardrobe and pantry lighting, display and plinth lighting, shelf lighting.
• ⚠ The decision is hard to reverse cheaply. Adding dimming later means changing the driver, which inside joinery is the expensive part. If there is any chance the run will want dimming, buy the 5-in-1 version now.

⛔ The slim form costs efficiency

• Up to 79%, against up to 89% for the compact 12 V IP20 drivers.
• ⛔ At 150 W output that is roughly 190 W drawn against 169 W, and the difference becomes heat inside the enclosure.
• ⚠ So give it air. A slim driver sealed into an airless joinery void runs hotter than a compact one at the same load, and heat is what shortens a driver's life.
• ⭐ Its power factor is better — PF >0.96 against >0.95 — which matters on a commercial supply.

⭐ A weight comparison that resolves an open question

• ⭐ The linear pair runs the way you would expect — the dimmable driver is heavier because it has more circuitry.
• ⚠ The compact pair runs the other way, which we flagged on both of those pages without resolving it. ⭐ Seeing the correct relationship here makes a transposition on the compact pair the more likely reading — but it is still an inference, and we have not changed either figure.
