The Domus ALLEGRA-PDT-1 is a single-globe metal pendant taking one E27 lamp, in black, white or satin chrome.

⚠ The maximum globe wattage is 60 W, not the 25 W our record shows. The datasheet says 60 W Max for the E27 holder.

The same 25 W appears on the ALLEGRA floor lamp and on the STRAP floor lamp, which tells you it was applied across the decorative range rather than measured from any of them. 60 W is the figure that governs what you can safely fit.

✅ With an LED globe it is academic — a 9 W LED E27 gives roughly what a 60 W incandescent did, and you will never approach the limit. ⚠ If you are fitting an incandescent or halogen E27, 60 W is the ceiling and it should be respected.

What a single-globe pendant is for
  • ✅ You choose the light, and the globe is part of the design. An E27 takes almost anything — opal for soft even light, a filament for a visible glow, a reflector globe to throw light down onto a table.
  • ✅ It outlives its light source, unlike an integrated-LED pendant, which is furniture that stops working when the LED does.
  • ✅ Repeated over a bench or an island it reads as deliberate — three of these at even spacing is a different room from one central fitting.
  • The globe is not included.
Choosing the globe — this is the whole decision
  • Over a dining table or island: a 9–11 W LED E27 around 800–1,000 lm at 3000 K. Opal, so nobody at the table is looking at a filament.
  • For atmosphere: a filament LED at 1800–2200 K. Beautiful, and it will not light a plate.
  • ⚠ A pendant hangs at eye level for someone standing. If the globe is visible — and in an open pendant it is — a clear globe means looking at the filament every time you walk past. Choose opal unless the filament is the point.
  • Dimming depends on the globe, not the pendant. Buy a dimmable E27 and a compatible dimmer, and tell us if you want them specified together.
Hanging it
  • 240 mm across. ⚠ Our record holds four dimension figures that do not resolve into one shade and one drop — 240 mm wide, 440 mm long, 460 mm high and 460 mm deep. If the drop matters, ask us and we will measure one.
  • Over a dining table: the usual rule is the bottom of the pendant 700–900 mm above the table top — high enough to see across, low enough to light the table rather than the room.
  • Over an island: a little higher, and set the spacing before the electrician fixes the points.

Questions
What is the maximum globe wattage?

60 W, from the datasheet. Our record says 25 W, and the same 25 W appears on two ALLEGRA and STRAP floor lamps as well — a figure applied across the decorative range rather than measured from any of them. 60 W is what governs what you can safely fit. With an LED globe it is academic: 9 W gives roughly what a 60 W incandescent did.

How far does it hang down?

Ask us and we will measure one. Our record holds four dimension figures — 240 mm wide, 440 mm long, 460 mm high and 460 mm deep — that do not resolve into one shade and one drop. For a pendant over a table the drop is the whole decision, so it is not something to guess at.

How high should it hang over a dining table?

The usual rule is the bottom of the pendant 700–900 mm above the table top — high enough to see across at, low enough that it lights the table rather than the room. Over a kitchen island, go a little higher. Set the spacing before the electrician fixes the ceiling points, because moving them afterwards means patching.

Is a globe included?

No. It takes a single E27, which is the most common base there is, so almost anything fits — opal, filament, reflector, warm or neutral, dimmable or not. Tell us where the pendant is going and we will suggest a globe rather than leave you to guess.

Should I use a clear or an opal globe?

Opal, unless the filament is the point. A pendant hangs at eye level for someone standing, and in an open pendant the globe is visible — a clear globe means looking straight at a bright filament every time you walk past. Over a dining table, opal at 3000 K is the safe answer.

Can I dim it?

That depends on the globe rather than the pendant. A dimmable E27 with a compatible dimmer will dim; a non-dimmable globe will not, whatever you fit. We can specify the globe and dimmer together if you tell us how you want to control it.

Which finish should I choose?

Black, white and satin chrome are all available. Satin chrome is the one people forget and it is often the right answer beside stainless appliances or chrome tapware, where black tends to read as a default rather than a decision.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Our Rights

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.

  • Restocking fee: 20% will apply unless otherwise stated, or unless another order of equal or greater value is placed in lieu of this re-stocking fee.
