CORNER - Surface Mounted Round Diffuser

The Domus CORNER-16-RND is a corner-mounting aluminium LED profile with a curved opal PMMA diffuser, 16 × 16 mm in section and 2,500 mm long, in anodised aluminium, black or white.

Why a corner profile, and where it goes

• ✅ Light on two surfaces from one run. Mounted in an internal angle at 45°, the output falls across both planes — a wall and a ceiling together, rather than one or the other.
• ✅ The channel disappears. At 16 mm on each face it tucks into the angle, so what you see is the lit surfaces and a soft line where they meet.
• ✅ It is the neat answer for a cove that was not built with a rebate — you get an indirect wash without any building work.
• ✅ And for joinery reveals and stair stringers, where a flat profile would either project or need a groove routed for it.
• ⚠ It is the smallest profile in this range at 16 mm, so it is a detail line rather than a main light source.

The curved diffuser at 16 mm

• Curved opal PMMA rather than a flat lens.
• ✅ At this size the curve does real work. A shallow flat channel struggles to hide individual LEDs; a curve diffuses across a longer path for the same depth.
• ⚠ Even so, pair it with a dotless COB strip. At 16 mm there is very little room between the strip and the diffuser, and an ordinary SMD strip will show through.
• ✅ It also keeps the LEDs free of foreign objects and vapours, which is Domus's own point and matters in a kitchen or a workshop.

Mounting it

• Supplied with silver end caps and mounting clips.
• ⚠ End caps are sold each and every cut length needs its own pair — two runs from one 2.5 m length need four caps.
• ⚠ A corner profile relies on a clean internal angle. On a wall-to-ceiling junction with a cornice, or an out-of-square corner, it will not sit flush. Check the angle before ordering a long run.
• ✅ Custom powder coating is available per the datasheet. Ask us for lead times.

Working with 2.5-metre lengths

• 2,500 mm continuous. ⚠ A shipping and handling consideration as much as a design one.
• Aluminium cuts cleanly with a mitre saw and a fine blade. ⚠ Mitre the internal corners if the run turns — a corner profile that butts at a change of direction leaves a visible gap in the light line.
• ⚠ Deburr the cut end before the diffuser goes in, or it will scar.
• ⚠ Plan the profile lengths and the strip cut increments together. A COB strip cuts every 25 mm.

Choosing the finish

Natural clear anodised against metal, stone and concrete; black against dark joinery, where it reads as a shadow line when unlit; white against white cabinetry and painted plasterboard, where it should not be seen at all.

✅ In a wall-to-ceiling corner, white is usually right — the profile is meant to vanish and the light is meant to appear from nowhere.

• ⛔ Not a light — the strip and driver are separate.
• ⚠ Not for an out-of-square or corniced corner — check the angle first.
