The Domus CHESTER wall bracket, straight arm facing up, holds the CHESTER lantern above a straight arm — 300 mm wide × 510 mm high × 305 mm projection, die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking one B22 lamp.
Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.
| Bracket | Width | Height | Projection |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up, straight arm (this one) | ✅ 300 mm | ✅ 510 mm | ✅ 305 mm |
| Down, straight arm | ⛔ not recorded | 510 mm | 305 mm |
| Up, curved arm | 305 mm | 422 mm | ⛔ not recorded |
| Down, curved arm | ✅ 305 mm | ✅ 422 mm | ✅ 370 mm |
⭐ Two of the four record all three dimensions and two do not — and the two gaps sit on different fields, so between them the family is fully described even though the individual listings are not. ✅ This one you can specify straight off the page.
The “Requires: Lamp GT-131 Wall Bracket Straight Arm Facing Up” line on the datasheet is not a parts list. GT-131 is the CHESTER series code — every traditional-lantern family in this catalogue has one, and each has a matching GTA replacement diffuser. For CHESTER that is the GTA-131 panel set, sold separately.
One B22 lamp, not included, and no maximum recorded anywhere in the CHESTER family. ✅ B22 LED at 9–11 W, warm, enclosed and damp rated, is what we would fit. ⚠ Ask us before anything above about 15 W.
Four wall brackets, a pillar mount, a post top, a chain pendant and nine post arrangements — and a CHESTER-LARGE family in the same style at a bigger scale, with its own GTA-161 diffuser. ⚠ No listing mentions any of the others.
Wall bracket, straight arm, lantern facing UP. Die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens. IP43. 220–240 V AC. One B22 lamp — not included. 300 mm wide × 510 mm high × 305 mm projection — ✅ all three recorded. Made in Italy, assembled and powder-coated in Australia. Beige, Black, Burgundy, Green or White. ⚠ Warranty 1 year. ⛔ No maximum lamp wattage recorded, as across the whole CHESTER family. ⭐ A GTA-131 replacement acrylic panel set is sold separately — the acrylic is what fails on these lanterns.
Supplied and supported by Lights For You.
305mm, and it is one of only two CHESTER brackets that records the figure. That makes it the shallowest of the four alongside its down-facing twin — the curved-arm versions go out to around 370mm. So if the bracket is going into a narrow passage, a side entry or a doorway reveal, this is the specification that fits where the others may not.
What you want lit, and how formal it should look. Up-facing holds the lantern above the arm so light goes up the wall as well as down, making the facade part of the lit surface — either side of a front door an up-facing pair reads as composed. Down-facing puts the lantern lower and closer to a step, a threshold or a path, which is the better tool where people actually walk. Both straight-arm versions are 510mm tall with a 305mm projection.
Yes, and it is the most useful thing on this page. A GTA-131 panel set — the CHESTER series replacement acrylic diffuser — is sold separately, and no CHESTER listing mentions it. The acrylic is the part that fails on these lanterns: UV yellows and embrittles it over years while the cast aluminium body lasts decades. On a property with several CHESTER fittings that is the difference between a cheap refresh and re-buying the lot.
No — and on this listing the line is at its most confusing, because this IS the straight-arm-facing-up bracket the line names. It reads "Requires: Lamp GT-131 Wall Bracket Straight Arm Facing Up", which is three separate things on the sheet run together: "Requires: Lamp", true because the lamp is not included; "GT-131", the CHESTER lantern series code; and the caption of one of the sheet's diagrams. Nothing extra is required.
A B22 LED at 9–11W, warm at around 3000K, rated for enclosed and damp use. No maximum wattage is recorded anywhere in the CHESTER family, so ask us before going above about 15W. Warm matters particularly on an up-facing bracket, because the lens is angled towards the eye — a bright cool globe at head height beside a door is glary rather than welcoming.
Start with clearance. If the wall position is tight, the two straight-arm brackets project 305mm against the curved arms' 370mm or so. Then direction: up-facing for a formal pair either side of a door and light washing the facade, down-facing for lighting a step or a threshold. Then character: the curve suits a period frontage, the straight arm suits rendered modern brickwork. One caution — the down-facing curved-arm listing does not state its direction in the title, so check the SKU rather than the name.
Yes. There are sixteen CHESTER listings in all — four wall brackets, a pillar mount, a post top, a chain pendant and nine post arrangements — plus a CHESTER-LARGE range in the same style at a bigger scale, which has its own GTA-161 diffuser. No listing mentions the others. That is worth knowing, because using the same head on the garage wall, the gate piers and over the front door is what makes a property read as one scheme.
