The Domus CHESTER-LARGE wall bracket, straight arm facing down, holds the large CHESTER lantern below a straight arm — 350 mm wide × 570 mm high, die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking one B22 lamp.

  • ⭐ 570 mm is 85 mm shorter than its own up-facing twin and 70 mm shorter than either curved bracket. On a low wall, under a soffit, or beneath a first-floor window sill, that difference decides whether it fits.
  • ⚠ Which also tells you something about the range: on the straight arms, direction changes the height by 85 mm; on the curved arms it changes nothing — both are 640 mm. ⭐ So the straight pair are not one arm inverted, and the curved pair may well be.

Which of the four LARGE brackets is the smallest?

This one. At 350 × 570mm it is 85mm shorter than its own up-facing twin and 70mm shorter than either curved bracket. On a low wall, under a soffit, or beneath a first-floor window sill, that difference decides whether it fits at all — so if the wall is tight, this is the one to specify.

Are the up and down straight brackets the same arm inverted?

Apparently not, and it is worth knowing. The straight-arm pair differ by 85mm in height — 655mm up against 570mm down — while the curved pair are both 640mm regardless of direction. If they were simply one arm turned over, the heights would match as the curved ones do. So expect the straight pair to look different from each other beyond just which way the lantern points.

How far does it stand off the wall?

Not recorded, on any of the four CHESTER-LARGE brackets, and on a wall bracket that is the clearance figure. Ask us and we will measure one before you order — worth doing before a ten-day production wait rather than after, because a clearance problem found on site cannot be fixed by trimming.

Should I choose the straight or the curved arm?

Appearance and size. A straight arm reads upright and formal and suits rendered modern brickwork; a curved arm reads traditional and suits a period frontage. On size, the straight brackets are 350mm wide against the curved ones' 370mm, and this down-facing straight is the shortest of all four at 570mm. All take the same lantern.

How long will it take to arrive?

Domus builds this to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not held in stock — the body is powder-coated in the colour you choose after ordering, which is why five colours are offered. Order matched pairs or a whole run together: a second order later starts its own ten days, and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match.

What lamp should I use?

A B22 LED at 9–11W, warm at around 3000K, rated for enclosed and damp use. No maximum wattage is recorded anywhere in the CHESTER family, so ask us before going above about 15W. On a down-facing bracket the lantern sits near eye level beside a door, so warm and modest beats bright — brightness at that height reads as glare rather than welcome.

Can I replace the lens if it goes cloudy?

Yes — a GTA-161 panel set, the CHESTER-LARGE series replacement acrylic diffuser, is sold separately. The acrylic is the part that fails on these lanterns: UV yellows and embrittles it over years while the cast aluminium body lasts decades. On a bracket beside a door, where the lantern is close and well lit, yellowing shows sooner than it would at the top of a post.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
