Down. Its title says "C-ARM", which gives the arm type and not the direction, and its twin is titled simply "WALL BRACKET" with neither. Both record identical dimensions of 370 × 640mm, so specification does not separate them either — only the web addresses, this one ending c-arm-down and the other c-arm-up. Order by SKU rather than title; on a made-to-order fitting a mix-up costs ten business days as well as the part.

Should I choose this or the up-facing curved bracket?

What the light is for. Down-facing hangs the lantern below the arm, so the light lands closer to a door, a step or a path — the practical choice beside a back door, a garage door or a side entry where the job is to light the ground. Up-facing puts the lantern above the arm and throws light onto the wall as well, which does more for how the building looks at night. Both are 370 × 640mm and both are made to order.

How far does it stand off the wall?

Not recorded, on any of the four CHESTER-LARGE brackets, and on a wall bracket that is the clearance figure. Ask us and we will measure one before you commit — especially in a passage or beside a doorway, and especially here, because a clearance problem found on site after a ten-day production wait is an expensive discovery.

Why choose a curved arm over a straight one?

Appearance, mostly. A curved arm reads traditional and a straight arm reads upright and formal — on a period or heritage frontage the curve almost always suits better, and on rendered modern brickwork a straight arm can look cleaner. There is a size difference too: the curved brackets are 370mm wide and 640mm tall, the straight ones 350mm wide at 655mm (up) or 570mm (down).

How long will it take to arrive?

Domus builds this to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not held in stock — the body is powder-coated in your chosen colour after ordering, which is why five colours are offered rather than one. Order matched pairs together, because a second order starts its own ten days and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match.

What lamp should I use?

A B22 LED at 9–11W, warm at around 3000K, rated for enclosed and damp use. No maximum wattage is recorded anywhere in the CHESTER family, so ask us before going above about 15W. On a down-facing bracket beside a door the lantern sits near eye level, which makes a warm modest lamp matter more than it would on a post — brightness at that height reads as glare.

Can I replace the lens if it goes cloudy?

Yes — a GTA-161 panel set, the CHESTER-LARGE series replacement acrylic diffuser, is sold separately. The acrylic is the part that fails on these lanterns: UV yellows and embrittles it over years while the cast aluminium body lasts decades. Beside a door, where the lantern is close and well lit, yellowing shows sooner than it would at the top of a post.

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Returns

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

We reserve the right to refuse a return in cases where we cannot be reasonably satisfied that you purchased the product from us or where we are not responsible for the damage in accordance with our Faults & damages policy.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
