DOMUS CHESTER-LARGE PILLAR MOUNT B22

The Domus CHESTER-LARGE pillar mount is the large CHESTER lantern on a pillar-top column — 310 mm wide, 660 mm high, die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking one B22 lamp.

⛔ This item is made to order

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. ⚠ Pillar mounts are usually bought in pairs for gate piers — order both together, because a second order starts its own ten days and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match.

⛔ “LARGE” does not mean taller on this one

• ⛔ It is 20 mm wider and 10 mm SHORTER. On the recorded figures the LARGE pillar mount is not taller than the standard one.
• ⚠ That is not what the name implies to someone choosing between them on price, and it is worth settling before you order two.
• ⭐ The likely explanation is that the lantern is bigger and the column shorter, which would give a larger head at about the same overall height — but no source says so, and the two listings record different fields.
• ⭐ Ask us to compare a pair side by side. On a gate pier, where the two would never be seen together, the difference that matters is the lantern size rather than the total height.

⛔ And the base dimension is not recorded

The standard CHESTER pillar mount records a 290 × 290 mm base. ⛔ This one records a width and a height and no base.

• ⛔ On a pillar mount the base is the dimension that has to match the pier top, with room for fixings around it.
• ⚠ Do not assume 310 mm. That is the fitting's width, which may or may not be the base.
• ⭐ Measure your pier and ask us — we will measure a physical base before you order. A base overhanging a narrow capping looks wrong and gives the fixings nothing to bite.

⭐ Why a pillar mount rather than a post

• ✅ It uses masonry you already have — a brick gate pier, a rendered column, a capped wall. No footing, no post, no digging.
• ⭐ Which sidesteps the gap this range keeps showing: no CHESTER post records a footing specification or a wind rating. The pier is already there and already engineered.
• ⚠ Cable entry comes up through the pier, which on an existing wall means a chase or a surface conduit. Settle it with your electrician before ordering a made-to-order fitting.

⛔ A B22 holder with no maximum wattage

One B22 lamp, not included, no maximum recorded anywhere. ✅ A B22 LED at 9–11 W, warm, enclosed and damp rated, is what we would fit. ⚠ Ask us before anything above about 15 W.

⭐ There is a replacement lens for it

The “Requires: Lamp GT-161…” line is the CHESTER-LARGE series code, and the series has a GTA-161 replacement acrylic panel set sold separately. ⭐ The acrylic is what fails; the cast body lasts decades. ✅ Nothing extra is required to install it.

• Where post-light presence is wanted without a footing.
