The Domus CHESTER-LARGE 1LT is a single-head post light on a 2.45 m post — 380 × 380 mm across the lantern, die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking one B22 lamp. Five powder-coated colours.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the finish choice. The body is powder-coated in the colour you pick after you order, which is why the range offers five rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job — a post light is usually wanted for a handover or a booked electrician. Tell us the date and we will confirm the production window.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. A second order later starts its own ten days, and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⭐ CHESTER-LARGE is one post height, where CHESTER is nine

The standard CHESTER head is sold on nine post arrangements — singles, twins and triples from 1.32 m to 2.47 m. CHESTER-LARGE has exactly one: this 2.45 m single.

• ⭐ So the LARGE range is eight configurations, not thirteen — this post, a post top, a pillar mount, a chain pendant and four wall brackets.
• ✅ Which makes the choice simpler. If you want a large lantern on a post, this is the post; if you want a choice of heights, the standard CHESTER is the range.
• ⚠ There is no twin or triple LARGE. For a gateway wanting two or three heads, the standard CHESTER twin at 2.47 m is the nearest thing — a smaller lantern, but two of them.

⭐ The one Domus post whose two heights agree

Title 2.45 m. Recorded 2,450 mm. ⭐ Exactly the same figure.

⚠ That is worth saying because it is unusual. Across the 36 Domus posts that state a height in both places there is no convention — the standard CHESTER, PARIS, TURIN and MONACO ranges all record below their titles, AVIGNON records above. ✅ On this one you can plan from either figure.

⛔ A B22 holder with no maximum wattage, and no footing data

• ⛔ No maximum wattage is recorded — not in a field, not on the datasheet. ✅ A B22 LED at 9–11 W, warm, rated for enclosed and damp use, is what we would fit. ⚠ Ask us before anything above about 15 W.
• ⛔ No footing depth, base plate size, fixing pattern or wind rating. ⚠ At 2.45 m carrying a 380 mm lantern this is the largest single-head load in the whole CHESTER family — bigger head, taller post.
• ⭐ Settle the footing with us before the concreter is on site. It goes into concrete long before anyone tests the light.

⭐ There is a replacement lens for it

Its datasheet's “Requires: Lamp GT-161 Large Up Wall Bracket” line is not a parts list. GT-161 is the CHESTER-LARGE series code — every traditional-lantern family here has one, and each has a matching GTA replacement diffuser. For CHESTER-LARGE that is the GTA-161 panel set, sold separately.

⭐ On a lantern this size the acrylic is worth replacing rather than the fitting. UV yellows and embrittles it over years while the cast body lasts decades. ✅ Nothing extra is required to install the post.

• Wide frontages and turning circles, spaced generously.
• Alongside CHESTER-LARGE wall brackets and pillar mounts on the same property.
• ⚠ Not on a small suburban frontage — the standard CHESTER 1.96 m is the domestic size.
• ⚠ IP43, so not a wash-down or coastal front-line position.
