The Domus CHESTER chain pendant is the CHESTER lantern hung on a chain — 300 mm wide, 300 mm high, 330 mm recorded length, die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking one B22 lamp.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the finish choice. The body is powder-coated in the colour you pick after you order, which is why the range offers five rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⚠ The one figure you need is the drop, and it is not clearly stated

• ✅ This listing records all three dimensions, which is better than several in the family manage — and better than the equivalent AVIGNON pendant, which records no height at all.
• ⚠ But what the 330 mm “length” describes is not stated. Against a 300 mm lantern height it reads as lantern plus a short chain — but it could be the chain alone, or an overall figure.
• ⭐ On a pendant the drop is the whole specification. On a standard 2.4 m porch ceiling, a 330 mm overall drop leaves the lantern at about 2.07 m — clear of everyone. If the 330 mm is chain alone, the lantern hangs at about 1.77 m, which people will walk into.
• ⭐ Ask us and we will measure one before you commit. That difference is the whole question on a covered entry.
• ⚠ Whether the chain can be shortened is also not recorded. Most can; this one does not say.

⭐ Where a chain pendant is the right answer

• ✅ Under a porch, a verandah, a carport or a covered entry — anywhere with a ceiling but no wall in the right place.
• ✅ It is the same lantern as the posts and wall brackets, so a property can use the pendant over the front door, the wall bracket on the garage and the post at the gate and read as one scheme.
• ⚠ Chain pendants swing. In an exposed position — an open carport, a coastal verandah — that is both a nuisance and a wear point on the flex. A pillar mount or wall bracket is steadier.
• ⚠ IP43, so it needs the cover it is hanging under. Not for an unroofed position.

⛔ A B22 holder with no maximum wattage

• One B22 lamp, not included, no maximum recorded anywhere.
• ✅ A B22 LED at 9–11 W, warm, rated for enclosed and damp use, is what we would fit.
• ⭐ On a pendant at eye level or just above, warm and modest matters more than on a post. The lantern is close enough to be looked at directly.

⭐ There is a replacement lens for it

Its datasheet's “Requires: Lamp GT-131…” line is the CHESTER series code, not a part number, and the series has a GTA-131 replacement acrylic panel set sold separately. ⭐ On a pendant this matters more than on a post: the lantern hangs at eye level under a light-coloured ceiling, so yellowed acrylic is far more visible than it would be at 2.4 m. ✅ Nothing extra is required to install it.
