The Domus CHESTER 1LT is a single-head post light on a 2.37 m post — the tallest single-head in the range — in die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking one B22 lamp.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the finish choice. The body is powder-coated in the colour you pick after you order, which is why the range offers five rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⛔ At 2.37 m the missing footing data stops being a formality

• ⛔ No footing depth, no base plate size, no fixing pattern and no wind rating is recorded in any source.
• ⚠ This is the tallest single-head post in the range, so it has the longest lever arm working against whatever base it stands on — nearly a metre more than the 1.32 m version.
• ⭐ A post that leans is worse than one that falls, because it looks wrong for years and nobody quite gets round to it. The footing is what prevents that, and it is set in concrete before anyone sees the light work.
• ⭐ Tell us the site and the soil and we will get the footing detail from Domus before your concreter is there. This is the single most useful thing to settle on this product.

⭐ What 2.37 m gives you, and what it costs

• ✅ The widest spread of any single-head CHESTER — one post covers ground that would take two at 1.32 m.
• ✅ The lantern is well clear of vehicles, gates and people, so it does not get knocked and it does not glare directly into anyone’s face.
• ⚠ It starts to read as a street light on a domestic frontage. On a long drive or a rural entrance that is right; on a small suburban front garden it can look municipal.
• ⚠ And it is visible from first-floor windows. ⭐ Which is a strong argument for a warm lamp at modest output — at this height a bright cool globe becomes the brightest object in the street.

⚠ The title-to-record gap is the biggest in the range, and it grows with height

• ⚠ The gap widens as the posts get taller, which is consistent within CHESTER — but ⛔ across all 36 Domus posts there is no convention at all: CHESTER, PARIS, TURIN and MONACO record below their titles, AVIGNON records above, VIENNA records exactly.
• ⭐ So we will not tell you which figure is the real one. An 80 mm difference matters under a soffit, beside a gate or against a sight line — ask us and we will measure a physical post.

⛔ A B22 holder with no maximum wattage recorded

• One B22 lamp, not included, no maximum stated anywhere.
• ⭐ 9–11 W LED, warm, enclosed and damp rated is what we would fit — and at this height it is genuinely enough.
• ⚠ Ask us before anything above about 15 W, particularly a halogen in a sealed acrylic lens.

⛔ That shared sheet is why it says “Requires: Lamp GT-131 Wall Bracket” on a post light. 106 Domus products across nine lantern families carry that line, 79 of them where it is self-contradictory. Nothing extra is needed.
