The Domus CHESTER 1LT is a single-head post light on a 1.96 m post — die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking one B22 lamp. Five powder-coated colours.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the finish choice. The body is powder-coated in the colour you pick after you order, which is why the range offers five rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⭐ 1.96 m is where the lantern clears head height, and that changes what it does

• ⭐ This is the useful middle: high enough that the light spreads across a driveway or a courtyard rather than pooling at the base, and low enough that it still reads as a garden fitting.
• ✅ Fewer posts cover the same ground than at 1.32 m, because the spread is wider.
• ⚠ The lantern is above eye level, so you will see the lit lens rather than looking down onto it. ⭐ Which is an argument for a warm, lower-output lamp: at this height a bright cool globe in a clear-ish acrylic lens becomes the brightest thing in the garden.

⛔ A B22 holder with no maximum wattage recorded anywhere

• One B22 bayonet lamp, not included, and no source states the maximum — not the record, not the datasheet.
• ⭐ A B22 LED at 9–11 W is what we would fit, warm at around 3000 K, rated for enclosed and damp use.
• ⚠ Ask us before fitting anything above about 15 W, and particularly before a halogen — a sealed acrylic lens is not a good place for heat.

⛔ And no footing specification or wind rating

• ⛔ Nothing records the footing depth, the base plate size, the fixing pattern or the wind loading. On a 2-metre post carrying a lantern that is a real consideration, not a formality.
• ⚠ It matters more here than on the 1.32 m post — half a metre more lever arm against the same base.
• ⭐ Tell us the site and we will get the footing detail from Domus before your concreter is on site rather than after.

⭐ The same lantern, thirteen ways

The CHESTER head is also made as a wall bracket, pillar mount, post top and pendant, and on eight other post arrangements — singles at 1.32 and 2.37 m, twins at 1.49, 2.11 and 2.47 m plus a 2.4 m curved arm, and triples at 2.47 m and 2.4 m curved. ⭐ On the shared datasheet and on no product page.

⛔ That shared sheet is also why it says “Requires: Lamp GT-131 Wall Bracket” — a sibling configuration, not a part. 106 Domus products across nine lantern families carry a line of that shape, 79 of them on posts, pendants, post tops and pillar mounts where it is self-contradictory. Nothing extra is needed.

⚠ Two heights, and no rule connecting them

Title 1.96 m. Recorded 1,930 mm. ⚠ Across all 36 Domus posts that state a height twice there is no convention — CHESTER, PARIS, TURIN and MONACO record below their titles, AVIGNON records above, VIENNA records exactly. Ask us if the height is critical.
