The Domus CHESTER 1LT is a single-head post light on a 1.32 m post — die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking one B22 lamp. Made in Italy, assembled and powder-coated in Australia, in five colours.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the finish choice. The body is powder-coated in the colour you pick after you order, which is why the range offers five rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

The CHESTER head is sold as a wall bracket, a pillar mount, a post top and a pendant, and on nine different post arrangements:

• ⭐ It is on the shared datasheet and on no product page, so someone choosing between a wall bracket and a post never learns the same lantern does both.
• ✅ Which is exactly what you want on a property: the same head on the gate posts, on the garage wall and over the front door reads as a deliberate scheme rather than three purchases.
• ⚠ The curved-arm twin and triple are both 2.4 m against straight-arm versions at 2.47 m — so the arm shape, not the height, is the choice there.

⭐ At 1.32 m this is the lowest post in the range, and that decides what it is for

• ✅ Below eye level for most adults, so the lantern is seen from above and the light lands on the ground near it. This is a path and garden-bed light, not an area light.
• ✅ Repeated along a driveway or a path it gives a rhythm of low pools rather than overlapping coverage — which is usually the better look on a domestic frontage.
• ⚠ It will not light a gateway or a turning circle. For that, the 1.96 m or 2.37 m single, or a twin.
• ⚠ Low posts take more knocks — mowers, wheelbarrows, car doors. Die-cast aluminium handles that better than pressed steel, but placement still matters.

⛔ A B22 holder with no maximum wattage recorded anywhere

• It takes one B22 bayonet lamp, not included, and no source states the maximum.
• ⭐ In practice a B22 LED at 9–11 W is what we would fit — far more light than the incandescent this style was designed around, and it runs cool inside a closed acrylic lens.
• ⚠ Do not assume 60 W is safe just because it is the usual B22 figure. Ask us before fitting anything above about 15 W, particularly a halogen.
• ⚠ Choose a lamp rated for enclosed and damp use. A post-top lantern is a humid, sealed space; an indoor-only globe will not last a season.

⛔ Its datasheet asks for a wall bracket, and this is a post

The sheet carries “Requires: Lamp GT-131 Wall Bracket Straight Arm Facing Up”.

• ⛔ On a post light that line is self-contradictory. It is a range-sheet artefact naming a sibling configuration, not a part you need to buy.
• ⭐ We measured how far it goes: 106 products across nine lantern families carry a line of that shape, and 79 of them are posts, pendants, post tops or pillar mounts where it cannot be read as a requirement.
• ✅ Nothing extra is needed. The post light arrives as a post light.

⚠ The height in the title and the height in our record differ

Title 1.32 m. Recorded 1,315 mm. ⚠ We compared all 36 Domus posts that state a height in both places and there is no convention — the CHESTER, PARIS, TURIN and MONACO ranges record below their titles, AVIGNON records above, and VIENNA records exactly. So neither figure can be assumed to be the post alone or the post plus the lantern. ⭐ Ask us if the height matters against a fence, a gate or a sight line.
