The Domus CELL-T90 is a tilt frame for the CELL downlight module series, 115 × 115 × 50 mm, in black or white. Cutout Ø80 mm.

⛔ Read the cutout, not the name. A "T90" frame takes Ø80 mm, not 90 mm.

That matters because 90 mm is the standard Australian downlight aperture, so the obvious reading of the name is that this drops into an existing ceiling. It does not — a hole already cut to 90 mm is too big for this frame.

✅ Two independent sources agree: this frame's own record says Ø80 mm, and the CELL-9-T90 downlight's datasheet gives Ø80–85 mm. Elsewhere in the same range the naming is reliable — the D90 takes Ø90 mm and the D75 takes Ø75 mm — which is exactly what makes this one worth flagging.

✅ If you need tilt in an existing Ø90 mm hole, the CELL-DT90 frame is the one — it takes Ø90 mm.

Tilt in a shallow void — the reason this frame exists
  • 50 mm deep, against 70 mm for the deep DT90.
  • ✅ That is the trade-off it makes: you get a tilting aperture in a void that could not take the deep frame — a converted space, a bulkhead, a ceiling with ducting above it.
  • ⚠ The price is a bigger footprint. At 115 × 115 mm this is the largest CELL frame body, and it needs that clearance between joists or battens.
  • ⚠ And a smaller hole. Ø80 mm rather than the standard 90.
What a frame is and is not

  • ✅ The module is what carries the beam angle: 15°, 24°, 36° or 60°. Buying a frame plus a module is the only way to get a beam other than 60° in the CELL system.
  • ✅ The module is also what carries the five colour temperatures, including a 2700 K setting that almost nothing else in this catalogue offers.
  • ⭐ And the IC-4 rating — the CELL modules state it on their datasheets, and it is the only insulation-contact rating found anywhere in this catalogue. ⚠ The frame is part of the assembly, so ask us and we will confirm the rating for the pairing in writing.
Allowing for the module above the frame
  • Trio modules are 56 mm deep; DALI modules are 68 mm.
  • ⚠ So a shallow frame does not by itself make a shallow installation. 50 mm of frame plus a 68 mm DALI module is more depth than the 70 mm deep frame with a Trio module in it.
  • ✅ Tell us the void depth and the module you want and we will do that arithmetic rather than leave it to be discovered on site.
Choosing the finish

Black recedes into the aperture and reduces the apparent glare of the module behind it — which is why black trims are common on anti-glare fittings. White disappears into a white ceiling.

Questions
Will it fit a standard 90 mm downlight hole?

No — and this is the most important thing on the page, because the name says otherwise. A "T90" frame takes Ø80 mm. Two independent sources agree: this frame's own record, and the CELL-9-T90 downlight's datasheet at Ø80–85 mm. A hole already cut to the standard 90 mm is too big for it. If you need tilt in an existing 90 mm hole, the CELL-DT90 frame is the one.

Why is the naming inconsistent?

We do not know, and we are not going to rationalise it. What we can show is that it is inconsistent rather than systematically wrong: the D90 does take Ø90 mm and the D75 does take Ø75 mm, so the numbers are reliable elsewhere in the same range. That is exactly why the T90 is worth flagging — you would have no reason to doubt it.

Why choose this over the deep DT90 frame?

Warranties

For all warranty claims please ensure you have your proof of purchase at hand, an invoice from your electrician from the installation and check the faulty product is within the applicable warranty period. Warranty is replacement only.

Lights For You is not responsible for damages caused by unprofessional installation, modified products or manipulated by the customer or by any other person not authorised by the manufacturer; as well as by improper use, manipulation and/or short circuits, apparent signs of improper treatment.

Faulty items: lodge warranty directly with the brand (manufacturer). Keep proof of purchase.

Damaged or Missing Items

Notification of any damages or missing items must be received by Lights For You within seven (7) days of receipt of the product. Please email photos to ashfield@lightsforyou.com.au.

If the product is to be repaired or replaced, it must correspond to the one originally sent by Lights For You and the customer must include the delivery note and/or invoice.

Change of Mind Returns

  • Customers who wish to return a product due to a change of mind or cancelled order may do so within thirty (30) days of receipt.
  • The customer is responsible for the shipping costs for a change of mind return, irrespective of any free, discounted or any other type of shipping promotion that may have been applicable at the time of your order. This includes any costs you incur for us shipping the product to you in the first place and the cost of shipping the product back to us.

Cancellations

Customers who wish to cancel all or part of an order due to change of mind or incorrectly ordered may do subject to cancelling in within 12 hours, during business hours from time of purchase. Once products have been shipped, you cannot cancel them.
