Domus Cell-T75 - Tilt 75Mm Cut-Out Frame To Suit Cell Downlight Module Series

The Domus CELL-T75 is a tiltable downlight frame for the CELL downlight module series — 100 × 100 mm square, 50 mm deep, for a Ø70–75 mm cutout. Black or white.

⭐ The cutout, which is the first thing to get right

• Ø70–75 mm, stated on the datasheet. ⭐ A range rather than a single figure, which is useful: it will cover a hole cut anywhere in that band, so a slightly oversized or reworked opening is not automatically a problem.
• ⭐ The model name matches the cutout here — T75 for a 75 mm hole. ⚠ That does not hold across the whole CELL range. The CELL-T90 takes Ø80–85 mm, not 90 mm, so the name is a guide on this frame and a trap on that one. Check the sheet for the specific frame, every time.
• ⚠ The related CELL-K75 and CELL-P75 take Ø85 mm per the same sheet — so three frames with “75” in their names do not all take the same hole.
• ⚠ Our record lists a diameter of Ø72 mm, which sits inside the Ø70–75 mm band. It is not clear whether that is the frame’s aperture or a recommended cutout. Work to the Ø70–75 mm from the sheet and ask us if the ceiling is already cut.

⛔ It is a tilt frame and the tilt angle is recorded nowhere

The whole reason to choose a tiltable frame over a fixed one is the angle it will reach. Neither the product record nor the datasheet states it.

• ⛔ Without the angle you cannot tell whether it will reach the wall you want to wash, or whether it will aim at a painting from where the joist lets you cut the hole.
• ⭐ Ask us and we will measure one. On an adjustable fitting this is a two-minute answer and it decides whether the product works for the job.
• ⚠ Also unrecorded: whether the tilt locks, and whether the module stays aimed once the ceiling is closed up. Worth asking on a job where the fittings will be set once and not revisited.

⭐ What a separate frame and module system buys you

• ✅ The frame goes in at rough-in and the module goes in at fit-off. So the ceiling can be cut, patched and painted before the light itself is anywhere near the site — which is how the expensive part avoids being damaged by other trades.
• ✅ One frame, several modules. The output, beam and colour are decided by the module you choose, so the same hole and the same frame can take a different light later without re-cutting the ceiling.
• ✅ A tilt frame and a fixed frame share the cutout, so you can mix them along one run — fixed downlights through a corridor and tilted ones washing the end wall — and they read as one family from below.
• ⚠ The module is a separate purchase. This is the frame only.

⛔ Two things a downlight frame should record and this one does not

• ⛔ No IP rating. On a recessed ceiling fitting that is the field deciding whether it can go in a bathroom or under an eave.
• ⛔ No material. Which matters for a frame that has to hold its shape in a hot ceiling cavity for years.
• ⛔ No IC rating and no insulation clearance either, which on a recessed downlight in an Australian ceiling is a safety question rather than a preference. Ask us before installing into an insulated ceiling.
• ✅ What it does record is a 3-year warranty, which is the normal Domus term and better than the 1 year the imported ceramic ranges carry.

Where it works

• Washing a wall, a joinery face or artwork from a ceiling, where a fixed downlight would only light the floor.
• Sloped and raked ceilings, where tilt brings the beam back to vertical.
• Mixed runs with fixed CELL frames on the same Ø70–75 mm cutout.
• ⚠ Not without confirming the tilt angle if the aim is critical.
• ⚠ Not into an insulated ceiling until the IC rating is confirmed with us.
