Cell-P75 - Pinhole 75Mm Cut-Out Frame To Suit Cell Downlight Module Series

The Domus CELL-P75 is a pinhole frame for the CELL downlight module series, 95 × 95 × 50 mm, in black or white.

What a pinhole frame is for

• A pinhole aperture is deliberately small — much smaller than the module behind it — so the lamp is almost entirely concealed.
• ✅ What you see is a small bright point and the light it throws, not a visible fitting. In a gallery, a hallway, or a ceiling where the lighting is meant to disappear, that is the whole effect.
• ✅ It cuts glare hard. The aperture shields the source from almost every viewing angle, which is why pinholes are specified where people look up — stairwells, double-height spaces, galleries.
• ⛔ It costs you light. A small aperture blocks a substantial part of the module's output. A pinhole is an effect, not an efficient way to light a room — expect to need more of them, or to pair them with something else.
• ⚠ No source records how much output it costs. Ask us and we will get the figure from Domus before you count fittings.

⚠ Pinhole or keyhole? Our records do not distinguish them

The CELL-K75 keyhole frame records identical figures — Ø70 mm cutout, 95 × 95 × 50 mm body, same warranty. Nothing in either record says what the two apertures do differently.

• In general use, a pinhole is a small round aperture giving a concealed downward beam.
• A keyhole aperture is shaped or offset, typically to throw light in a direction rather than straight down.
• ⚠ We are describing the convention, not asserting it for these two parts, because no source we hold does. Tell us the effect you want — concealed downlight, or directional — and we will confirm which frame delivers it.

What a frame is and is not

• ⛔ A frame is not a light. The CELL module and its driver are separate — CELL-9 (9 W) or CELL-13 (13 W), in Trio or DALI.
• ✅ The module carries the beam angle — 15°, 24°, 36° or 60°. ⭐ On a pinhole that choice matters more than usual: a narrow 15° or 24° module suits a concealed aperture, where a 60° wash mostly hits the inside of the frame.
• ✅ And the five colour temperatures, including 2700 K.
• ⚠ Allow for the module above the frame: 50 mm of frame plus 56 mm (Trio) or 68 mm (DALI).

Choosing the finish

✅ Black is the usual choice on a pinhole, and for a reason: the aperture is small and a dark interior stops it reading as a bright spot when the light is off. White disappears into a white ceiling but shows the aperture more.

• ✅ Galleries, stairwells and double-height spaces — hard glare control where people look up.
• ✅ Ceilings where the lighting is meant to disappear.
• ✅ Shallow voids — 50 mm frame depth.
• ⛔ Not an efficient way to light a room — expect to need more fittings.
• ⛔ Not a light — the module and driver are separate.
• ⚠ Confirm the cutout with us before cutting: our sources give Ø70 mm and Ø85 mm.
