Boost-10 - 10W Colour Switchable Led Downlight Ip54 240V - Trio

The Domus BOOST-10 is a 10 W anti-glare deep-set downlight in black or white — 800 lumens, IP54, CRI above 83, a 90° beam, switchable 3000 K / 4000 K / 5700 K, and a five-year warranty.

Deep-set with an opal diffuser — two glare controls at once

• The deep-set frame recesses the source, so you do not see it from a normal standing or sitting position.
• The opal diffuser spreads what does escape, so there is no bright point even looking directly up at it.

✅ Together that makes it comfortable in a bedroom — the flat-fascia SWAP-SLEEK, at a similar price, is noticeably harder on the eye at a shallow angle. If people lie down under it, this is the better of the two.

A 90° beam — general lighting, not accenting

Wide and even. Plan roughly 2 m spacing from a 2.4 m ceiling. It lights a room; it does not pick things out. For accenting, the 36° DEEP-13 or the 24° PICO are the fittings.

The numbers, including the one worth knowing

• 750 lm at 3000 K, 780 lm at 4000 K, 800 lm at 5700 K.
• 78 lm/W, CRI ≥83 — slightly better colour than the CRI 80 typical of this class.
• Cutout Ø90 mm, face Ø110 mm, height 40 mm — shallow enough for most voids.
• ⚠ 40,000 hours, where the mainstream Domus downlights claim 50,000. The datasheet is candid that the BOOST range “incorporates cost saving materials”, and this is where that shows. At ordinary domestic use it is still well over twenty years.
• ✅ Domus specify a thermal management system in this range — heat is what shortens LED life, so it is the right thing to spend on in a value fitting.

✅ Five years, on the value range

The warranty here is five years, which is longer than the three years most of this catalogue carries. On a fitting explicitly built to a price, that is worth noting.

Where it works

• General room lighting throughout a house — about 2 m apart.
• Bedrooms — the deep-set frame and opal diffuser are comfortable to lie under.
• Bathrooms outside the shower zone, laundries and covered outdoor ceilings — IP54.
• Dusty or long-life installations — IP54 keeps the lens clean.
• ⚠ Not an accent light — a 90° beam lights everything.
