Domus BF-8042 Raw Ceramic Interior Wall Light

The Domus BF-8042 is a raw ceramic wall light taking one E27 lamp, 60 mm high with a 150 mm projection, supplied unpainted so it can be finished in the wall colour.

⛔ The width is not recorded, and on a wall light that is the dimension that decides everything

Our record holds the height (60 mm) and the projection (150 mm). It holds no width.

• ⛔ We will not invent it. Width is what tells you whether a fitting suits a pier, a hallway wall or a chimney breast, and across this ceramic range the widths run from 70 mm to 500 mm — so a guess could be wrong by a factor of seven.
• ✅ What the two recorded figures do tell you is the proportion: at 60 mm high this is a low, flat fitting rather than a block, and the 150 mm projection is a deep one — it stands well off the wall.
• ⚠ Check that projection against a corridor before committing; 150 mm is enough to catch a shoulder in a tight passage.
• ⭐ Ask us and we will measure a physical fitting. That is a better answer than a field that does not hold one.

⛔ Two sources give two different maximum wattages

• The datasheet says 60 W. Our record says 20 W.
• ⭐ We measured whether this was isolated, and it is not: 11 of the 12 E27 raw ceramics in this range carry exactly the same conflict. The twelfth, the BF-2440, has a datasheet genuinely reading “20 W CFL” — a compact-fluorescent figure that appears to have been copied across the rest.
• ✅ So we work to the datasheet’s 60 W.
• ✅ It constrains nobody in practice. An E27 LED at 8–10 W gives more light than a 60 W incandescent and sits under both readings.
• ⚠ Ask us before a circuit-load calculation.

What raw ceramic means here

• ✅ It arrives unfinished and you paint it — any water-based paint, the wall’s own included, so the fitting reads as part of the plaster.
• ⚠ Porous until painted, so it marks. Handle it with clean hands.
• ⚠ Indoor, dry areas only.
• ✅ Made in Italy, body-coloured throughout — nothing to peel or corrode.

Choosing the lamp — not supplied

• ✅ E27 LED, 8–10 W, 2700–3000 K, rated for enclosed fixtures.
• ⚠ Check the lamp fits the cavity. E27 LEDs vary a great deal in length and girth and a ceramic shell is a fixed space — a compact globe is safer than a long candle.
• ✅ CRI ≥90 if the wall is a colour.
• ⛔ E27, not E14 — the large screw base; the small one will not fit.

Where it works

• A living-room or hallway wall with clearance for a 150 mm projection.
• A stairwell, where the deep projection carries light further across the ceiling.
• ⚠ Confirm the width with us first if the wall it is going on is narrow.
• ⚠ Not on a poorly finished wall — grazing light finds every ripple.
