DOMUS AVIGNON 2LT 2.4M POSTLIGHT B22

The Domus AVIGNON 2LT is a traditional exterior post light with two lantern heads on a 2.4 metre post, in die-cast aluminium with moulded acrylic lenses, IP43, taking two B22 lamps, in beige, black, burgundy, green or white. 640 mm across.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the five finishes. The body is powder-coated in the colour you choose after you order, which is why the range offers Beige, Black, Burgundy, Green and White rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⚠ At 2.4 m the footing is the part to get right

• This is the highest wind loading in the AVIGNON range, and a twin head puts that load off-centre when only one side is exposed.
• ⛔ No footing specification, wind rating or post weight is recorded on any AVIGNON post. Ask us and we will get what Domus specifies before anything is dug.
• ⚠ On an exposed or coastal driveway that matters more. A post that stands in a sheltered courtyard may not suit an open entrance on a windy ridge.
• ✅ The footing is a groundwork job that happens before the electrician arrives — so it has to be planned, not discovered.

⛔ Two lamp holders, and no wattage figure of any kind

• No per-lamp maximum, and no total for the two together.
• ✅ Two LED B22 at 9–11 W draw around 20 W between them and run cool inside sealed lenses.
• ⚠ At 2.4 m a brighter lamp is tempting and usually wrong. More output from a high lantern mostly produces glare and spill onto neighbouring property; the reach comes from the height, not the wattage.
• ⛔ If you intend incandescent or halogen, ask us and we will get both figures from Domus.

⚠ IP43 at the most exposed height in the range

• Spray falling at up to 60° from vertical — not driven rain, not hosing.
• ⚠ At 2.4 m the lanterns stand clear of everything. ⛔ This is the height at which the IP43 rating is worth questioning rather than accepting. Tell us the exposure and we will say whether it suits or point you at something rated higher.
• ⚠ Two acrylic lenses in full sun all day. Acrylic can craze; expect both to need replacing before the die-cast body does.

Choosing the globes

• Two LED B22 at 9–11 W, 2700–3000 K.
• ✅ Warm light at a driveway entrance reads as arrival; cooler light reads as a commercial gate.
• ✅ A filament globe works well at this height, well above any eyeline, and suits the traditional lantern form.
• ⚠ Fit two identical globes and replace them as a pair. At 640 mm apart they are seen together.

⭐ Seven configurations of one lantern

✅ Twin posts at the entrance, single heads down the drive, a pillar mount on the gate piers, a wall bracket at the door.

⚠ No page in the catalogue says the others exist. Tell us the positions and we will quote the set. ⚠ Its datasheet's "Requires: Lamp GT-271 Wall Bracket" line is the AVIGNON series code plus a diagram caption — and a GTA-271 replacement acrylic panel set is sold separately.
