The Domus AVIGNON 1LT is a traditional exterior post light — one lantern head on a 2.26 metre post, in die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking a B22 lamp, in beige, black, burgundy, green or white.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the five finishes. The body is powder-coated in the colour you choose after you order, which is why the range offers Beige, Black, Burgundy, Green and White rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⚠ At this height, the footing is the part to get right

• A 2.26 m post carries more wind load than a 1.25 m one, and the loads at the base go up faster than the height does.
• ⛔ No source records a recommended footing, a wind rating or the post's own weight. Ask us and we will get what Domus specifies, and tell your installer before anything is dug.
• ⚠ On an exposed or coastal site that matters more. A post that works in a sheltered courtyard may not suit an open driveway on a windy ridge.
• ✅ The footing is a groundwork job that happens before the electrician arrives, so it has to be planned rather than discovered.

⛔ The maximum lamp wattage is not recorded anywhere

• B22 bayonet, and no source states a maximum. The fourth Domus lamp-holder fitting we have found in that position.
• ✅ An LED B22 at 9–11 W gives roughly what a 60 W incandescent did and runs cool inside a sealed acrylic lens.
• ⚠ At 2.26 m a brighter lamp is tempting and usually wrong. More output from a high lantern mostly produces glare and light spill onto neighbouring property; the reach comes from the height, not the wattage.
• 2700–3000 K on a driveway or approach. Cooler light at this height reads as a commercial car park.

⚠ IP43, and a taller post is more exposed

• Spray falling at up to 60° from vertical — not driven rain, not hosing.
• ⚠ A 2.26 m lantern stands clear of planting, fences and buildings, so it catches weather that a shorter post in a bed does not. This is the height at which the IP43 rating is worth questioning.
• ✅ Tell us the exposure and we will say whether it suits or point you at something rated higher.
• ⚠ The acrylic lens can craze under years of full sun, and at this height it is in full sun all day. Expect it to need replacing before the body does.

✅ The same head is made as a wall bracket, a pillar mount, a post top, a pendant, and single, twin or triple head on posts of six heights.

On a driveway approach with piers and a front door, that is one lantern in three mountings — and the 2.26 m post is the natural partner to a pillar mount on the gate piers. ⚠ No page in the catalogue says the others exist. Tell us the positions and we will quote the set.

⚠ About the "Requires: Wall Bracket" line on its datasheet

Its sheet reads "Requires: Lamp GT-271 Wall Bracket". ⛔ A post light does not need a wall bracket — the line names another configuration in the same family, and it is the tenth such case found in this catalogue. What this needs is a footing and a B22 lamp.
