The Domus AVIGNON 1LT is a traditional exterior post light — one lantern head on a 1.9 metre post, in die-cast aluminium with a moulded acrylic lens, IP43, taking a B22 lamp, in beige, black, burgundy, green or white.

Domus builds this fitting to order and asks for up to 10 business days for production before it ships. It is not picked off a shelf.

• ⭐ That is the trade-off for the five finishes. The body is powder-coated in the colour you choose after you order, which is why the range offers Beige, Black, Burgundy, Green and White rather than one stocked colour.
• ⚠ Plan the lead time into the job. If it is needed for a handover, a settlement or a booked electrician, tell us the date when you order and we will confirm the production window with Domus.
• ⚠ Order the whole set together. On a property using several of these, a second order placed later starts its own ten days — and a later powder-coat batch is not guaranteed to match the first.

⛔ The maximum lamp wattage is not recorded anywhere

• B22 bayonet, and no source states a maximum — the figure that decides what can safely be fitted.
• ⚠ The fourth Domus lamp-holder fitting in this position, after the GT-670 pendant, the SHADOW 1LT wall light and the AVIGNON pillar mount.
• ✅ An LED B22 at 9–11 W gives roughly what a 60 W incandescent did and runs cool inside a sealed acrylic lens.
• ⚠ Choose the colour temperature carefully on a path. 2700–3000 K reads as light and makes planting and paving look right; anything cooler reads as security lighting and makes a garden look like a car park.

⚠ IP43 on a path post

• Protection against spray falling at up to 60° from vertical — not driven rain, and not hosing.
• ⚠ On a path a post is usually more exposed than on a bed, because it is out of the planting. Tell us how sheltered the run is and we will say whether IP43 suits or point you at something rated higher.
• ⚠ The acrylic lens will not shatter — useful beside a path where a wheelbarrow or a mower passes — but it can craze under years of full sun. Expect the lens to outlast the warranty and not the body.

Getting a run right

• Even spacing, and consistent setback from the path edge. ✅ On a run of posts the eye reads the rhythm before it reads the light, so an inconsistent setback is more visible than an inconsistent brightness.
• ⚠ Allow for growth. Planting that is 300 mm high at installation may be 900 mm in three years, and a post lantern half-buried in shrubs lights nothing.
• ⚠ Plan the footings and the cable route before anything is dug — on an established garden that is the real constraint, and moving a post afterwards means excavation.
• ✅ Match every post on the job to the same finish, including any wall brackets or pillar mounts elsewhere on the property.

⭐ One lantern, seven configurations

✅ The same head is made as a wall bracket, a pillar mount, a post top, a pendant, and single, twin or triple head on posts.

On a property with a driveway entry, a path and a front door, that means one lantern in three mountings — a scheme rather than three near-matches. ⚠ No page in the catalogue says the others exist. Tell us the positions and we will quote the set.

⚠ About the "Requires: Wall Bracket" line on its datasheet

Its sheet reads "Requires: Lamp GT-271 Wall Bracket". ⛔ A post light does not need a wall bracket — the line names another configuration in the same family, and it is the tenth Domus product found with a range sheet whose "requires" line describes a sibling. What this needs is a footing and a B22 lamp.
