The Domus EVAC D63 is a recessed non-maintained LED emergency light — 3.5 W, 380 lumens, D63 classification, LiFePO4 battery, adjustable 95/145 mm dish at 34 mm deep, in black or white.
⭐ The sheet says “4 Year Warranty including battery”. ⭐⭐ THAT INCLUSION IS THE PART TO NOTICE. ⭐ On emergency fittings the battery is the consumable and is commonly excluded from cover, so a warranty naming it is materially better than one that does not. ⭐ It is also longer than the D40 model's two years in the same range — ⭐ worth knowing if you are choosing between them for reasons other than spacing.
⭐ The range description notes a polarity reversal protection switch mode for the battery, described as suiting jobs not yet complete where the power must be turned off at the mains. ⭐⭐ WHAT THAT SOLVES IS A REAL SITE PROBLEM. ⭐ Emergency fittings installed early in a build sit discharging every time the site power goes off, and a battery cycled that way repeatedly before handover arrives at commissioning already degraded. ⭐ A switch that isolates the battery until the job is live protects it. ⭐ If fittings are going in months before practical completion, ask us how to set it.
⭐ Emergency fittings require periodic discharge testing under AS2293.2. ⭐ That is an owner obligation rather than a product feature, and it is what determines whether the fitting works on the day it is needed. ⭐ A building full of emergency lights that has never been tested is a building with unknown emergency lighting.

Recessed non-maintained LED emergency luminaire. 3.5 W, 380 lm. D63 classification to AS2293.3-2005 + AMD 1&2 Annex C, EMC compliant. LiFePO4 battery with polarity reversal protection. Adjustable dish 95–145 mm, 34 mm deep. 240 V. 4-year warranty including the battery. ⛔ IT SHARES ITS TITLE WITH A DIFFERENT PRODUCT — "SURFACE EMERGENCY D63 RECESS" is used by both the recessed and the surface-mounted version and contains both words. THIS IS THE RECESSED ONE: an adjustable 95/145 mm dish and a 34 mm depth only make sense for a fitting going into a hole. ⭐ Only three duplicate titles exist in the whole catalogue, so it is small and fixable — but if you are ordering from a schedule, check the dimensions rather than the title.

Recessed. It shares its title with a different product — "SURFACE EMERGENCY D63 RECESS" is used by both versions and contains both words. The features settle it: an adjustable 95/145mm dish and a 34mm depth only make sense for a fitting going into a hole, where the other version has a 180 x 180mm plate and an 80mm height.
Check the handle or the dimensions rather than the title. Only three duplicate titles exist in the whole catalogue, so it is a small and fixable set — but on a schedule it is easy to pick the wrong one. Tell us which mounting you need and we will send the right one.
How far apart the fittings can sit and still meet the required floor illuminance. The letter describes the light distribution and the number is the spacing basis, so a higher number means wider spacing and fewer fittings for the same area — which matters more to the cost of an emergency scheme than the lumen output does.
The D40 is 1.8W and 239 lumens; this is 3.5W and 380, so D63 buys both more light and wider spacing. On a large floor plate that can mean noticeably fewer fittings. Do not compare classifications across manufacturers by number alone though — the spacing tables are what matter, and your certifier will work from those.
Better than most. Four years including the battery — and on emergency fittings the battery is the consumable and is commonly excluded from cover, so a warranty naming it is materially better than one that does not. It is also longer than the D40 model's two years in the same range.
A real site problem. Emergency fittings installed early in a build sit discharging every time the site power goes off, and a battery cycled that way repeatedly before handover arrives at commissioning already degraded. A switch that isolates the battery until the job is live protects it. If fittings are going in months before practical completion, ask us how to set it.
Probably. The dish adjusts from 95 to 145mm, which covers a wide range of existing holes, and an adaptor plate for larger holes is supplied in this range. At 34mm deep it also goes into ceilings that will not take a conventional downlight body. Check the existing cutout against that range before ordering.
